Colorado’s starting free safety is going to miss some time.

Colorado’s terrible, no good, very bad night in Lincoln just got worse. Buffaloes starting safety Shilo Sanders has suffered a broken forearm after an open-field tackle in the first quarter against the Huskers. He will not return for the second half of tonight’s game.

Deion Sanders told NBC in his half-time interview that his son suffered “a broken forearm or something.” While the diagnosis seems unofficial, the prognosis is bad regardless.

Carter Stoutmire has filled in for Sanders after his injury, playing the remainder of the first half.

We’ll circle back to this article and provide updates as soon as they’re available.
