The Buffs get their second recruit of the 2025 class.

The Colorado Buffaloes have won another battle over Colorado State, this time securing the commitment of Ian Inman, a 6’5 combo guard from Texas. Inman is the second recruit in Tad Boyle’s The first was Isaiah Johnson, a 6’1 point guard from Los Angeles.

Both players were drawn to Colorado thanks to Boyle’s track record of developing NBA-caliber guards. Inman also noted the strength coach Steve Englehart, who also played a big role in landing (and bulking up) previous recruits like Cody Williams and Assane Diop.

Inman chose the Buffs over the upstate Rams. Both are quality programs looking for defensively sound, physical guards who can shoot, drive and pass within a motion offense. Colorado just happened to have the better facilities and resources.

The Buffs will enter a transition year in 2025-26, when Inman and Johnson are freshmen. Julian Hammond III and Trevor Baskin will have graduated and after them, it’s anyone’s guess who will play even this season.

Felix Kossaras has a ton of potential and might be the next great guard. After that, Javon Ruffin will get minutes when healthy, Andrew Crawford will have to adjust to high-major basketball, Courtney Anderson and RJ Smith are long-term projects, and then Johnson and Inman will both compete at the 1 and 2, respectively.
