aaaand literally no one is surprised...
Travis Hunter is looking to build on his 2023 All-American season by adding yet another one to his resume, and he’s already well on his way. The AP released its preseason All-American list for the 2024 season on Monday afternoon, and Hunter unsurprisingly cracked that list.
Hunter was listed as the preseason first-team All-American list in the offensive all-purpose player position, which is the same role he earned first-team All-American honors for last season. The all-purpose player position is reserved for a player who doesn’t fit into the mold of a traditional position, which is a great description of Travis’ role as a two-way superstar with the Buffaloes.
Hunter is the far-and-away front-runner to come away with the first-team all-purpose spot. He managed to receive those honors last season even after missing nearly four full games, which is extremely impressive. As long as something doesn’t go catastrophically wrong, Colorado fans can expect another All-American banner hanging on a light post outside of Folsom Field.
Hunter is the only player on Colorado’s roster to receive preseason All-American honors, either first or second team. Shedeur Sanders didn’t make the cut, as voters opted to choose Georgia’s Carson Beck and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel over the Colorado quarterback.
