"The Homecoming game against Cal will mark to the day the 50th anniversary of CU's live buffalo mascot, Ralphie, leading the team out onto the field."

I'm wondering that given this will be V's tenth season and CU has retired Ralphies after ten seasons (or is it years?), would homecoming be the perfect time to unveil Ralphie VI? Or are they waiting for IV to kick the bucket? (she'll be 20 years old in April).

They typically unveil a new Ralphie at the spring game I think. Should be the next season or two though. From what I gather though there isn't a set time frame for them to stop running. Basically when Ralphie V doesn't want to run anymore, its time to change.
