RBs of the future at CO

Well who is the next under-the-radar stud at RB at CO next year after Rodney Stewart leaves? Right now the candidates are the Jones',Tony and Trea, Cordary Allen and Josh Ford who many believe will be a real force later on. I want to see everything go back to the way it was in 2001 when we had Brown, Purify, Cortlen Johnson and Brandon Drumm at FB. And the good news about that is they were ALL coached by current coach Eric Bienemy. which is a good indicator. I don't know if these 4 freshmen are the superstars in the making but atleast one has to emerge or we're screwd for the next couple years. All I know is the RBs we get that weren't heavily recruited or at all are they ones that shine and the prized ones we get don't do dick. Case in point, Darren Scott. What the hell did he do besides nothing. he was a 5 star back and lost his job to a 2 star Rodney Stewart. Hugh Charles and Purify were other sleepers that came into his own and flourished. I hope the 4 redshirt freshman will continue the trend.

It's hard to say if Scott got a fair chance under our last regime. Let's see how he does at USF to really gauge if he could have even been serviceable.

Thing about RB is that you can land a stud and he can be a game changer immediately. Not all guys become AD or Lattimore, but there are good RBs that just need coaching and a good line to adjust. The biggest thing for most backs seem to be able to pickup the blitz coming out of HS.

Whos AD? Well first of all, he (Scott) was out of shape when he got to Boulder for fall camp, and watching him play he just didnt seem very physical or explosive as Stewart is. But I agree that you can argue about not giving him a fair chance under Hawkins. They could have used him more but he didnt seem like he wanted it as much as Rodney. But Bienemy is back at RB coach and OC so thats a bonus seeing as how he was the one coaching Brown, Purify and Co. and you add a BIG seasoned Oline loaded with seniors into the mix and you get a kick ass running game. just gota worry about the passing game.

AD is Adrian Peterson's nickname which stands for All Day

was impressed with both T. Joneses at the fall scrimmage. one of them didn't catch well, but looked the part. best two RB's i've seen in person are Rashaan Salaam and Adrian Peterson. possibly Ahman Green. Rashaan was a freak out of the deep pitch I.

Hugh Charles was not a sleeper, he never woke up. He was the best we had at the time, but nowhere near the caliber of the other backs you mentioned.

Disagree on Hugh Charles. He was a solid contributor, an excellent student, and if you look at his YPA - it is better than Stewarts.

Hugh was a bit like Jamaal Charles at UT.....best two years were his frosh and senior. kinda slept-walked through the middle two.

Didn't say he wasn't a solid contributor. Hagan was constantly on Hugh for not running down hill, not running north south, and avoiding contact. Stewart ain't done.

In 2012 our RB corps should be interesting with Speedy gone. I wonder who steps up to the plate?
