Football program at CU would be dead. But glad to see Coach McBeans is bringing that Alabama culture to Fort Fun.
 
They'd already be off the team had it happened in Boulder and suspected anabolic steroids lol. If that school has any backbone, those guys wont see the field for awhile. Everybody ****s up but this is a little more than that imho.
 
Wow. We could never afford to handle the negative media onslaught that would come with that if it involved players on our team. But CSU? We really need to get more out of this football series if it is to continue.
 
Wow! All of that stuff from the DP...those statements from Ramnation saying that "CSU football players are just better people than CU's football players" (one of my all-time favorite quotes to migrate over here). Those statements about Sipili getting off easy (suspended from school for the semester), about the thugs at CU. But this stuff from Fort Collins is pretty ugly.

It boils down to this. CSU football players are just worse people than CU football players.

I like how he emphasized his grammatical mistake. It makes it easier to identify him as a CSU student.
 
So, there are drugs involved, they lied to police, and they assaulted another student - and they get off with disorderly conduct. This after being involved in a knife fight not a month earlier.

This smells like someone smoothing things over with the police
 
Reading the story, it appears they're charged with a misdemeanor, which seems appropriate to me. I think a fight = a misdemeanor unless someone uses a weapon or continues to beat a defenseless person.

The cops seem to have been pretty thorough, getting text messages from cell phone companies and searching homes. A much more involved investigation than is usual in a case that boils down to a fight.

Really, the most disturbing part is the steroid allegations. Unless Orakpo's a diabetic, he'll have a hard time explaining syringes in his apartment. Paulhus is even more screwed, since he basically admitted using steroids, but said "he has low testosterone and has a prescription for the drug." Uh-huh, we'll be waiting a long time to see that prescription. Also, since when does a doctor's note give you license to cheat?

The worst part about it for CSU: Even when using performance enhancing drugs, the rams could only manage 3 wins. :lol:​
 
Another sad story. If this were CU football players the local papers would have it on front page, the local TV news would have it as a lead story, and then they would send it national for the whole country to pile on. Sound familiar?

Also, anabolic steroids and a kit to skew marijuana test results were found. The guy said he has a prescription for the anabolics because he has low testosterone. Testosterone does not normally start to decrease until a male is in his 30s. This guy is either way over 30 or he has some type of endocrine disorder, and I doubt he would be playing football in college. I don't believe anyone is going to produce a legitimate prescription. What a massive pile of BS.

The witness reports state that this is exactly what happened.

aley said he and their other two friends tried to protect Gocha while the much larger men kicked and punched him.“I covered Donny’s head with my body,” Haley said. “We were all scared for his life. It froze me. You can’t really put into words how disturbing it was. My only thought was to protect his head.”​

Huh funny, I see that mistake all the time by both CU and CSU students. It's Facebook.

And there is no way this is a misdemeanor, NY. Did you see their injuries?
 
If it was CU the DA would have charged random players with sexual assault despite the lack of any physical evidence or even having "victims" name an actual attacker. 9news would be on campus with a satellite truck broadcasting live for the 5, 6, and 10pm news demanding justice, and the anti athletic community would be screaming for the entire program to be shut down.

Oh wait, that already happened. Never mind.

When are we going to accept that what happens at CU is newsworthy and what happens at CSU is only reported on out of civic obligation despite the public paying little attention no matter how "big" the story?

We are treated differently and we should be. It's a good thing.

I saw black eyes and bruises, I didn't hear about any broken bones or lost teeth. In New York, an assault with physical injury is a misdemeanor, an assault with "serious physical injury" is a felony. Serious physical injury = risk of death or protracted impairment of health, etc. Losing a fight or getting beaten bad enough to bruise isn't worth more than a year in prison to me.

What about a knocked out dude that is still being beaten? So bad that his friends are just trying to protect his head.

In Colorado the felony bar is a lot lower. A couple of kids at my high school got charged with felony assault for a heck of lot less than that.
