I kinda doubt we could've persuaded him to leave Michigan to come to us for a significant pay reduction.
The Pac 12 media deal changed everything. Every coach in the conference is going to be a multi-millionaire. it's the new standard. Like it or not. Did we overpay for MM? Yeah, probably. But the admin needed to show it was serious about turning around the football program. It had to pay above the market. We paid Embree too much, too. We overpaid Hawkins, too.

For others, we get it CU Football is in a bad place can we stop beating a freaking dead horse until the season starts and we actually have on our hands? Maybe we made the right call, maybe we did, maybe the staff hires were good, maybe they are bad, maybe MikeMac will fail, maybe he'll be a hero, maybe Bohn is a genius, maybe he is a moron...
But for ****s sake can we stop with the the trolling and preaching until we see what we have on our hands?
I'll remind the group of you half of us thought Embree was a good hire, half of us thought Boyle was a bad hire.

I'll be happy if other teams don't laugh at the Buffs during pre-game warm-ups and the CU "D" stops giving up other teams' records for the number of "longest-plays-ever in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters" of regular season games!! ( See, Fresno State)

Rich Rod was making $2.5M with UM, fired, unemployed for a year, then takes a $1m pay cut to take the UA job, a significantly less desirable job. A demotion in every sense.
MM was making 500k, completes greatest season in school history, and receives massive raise at CU, a school that couldn't land it's top choice(s).
What don't you get here? Where's the confusion on how salary economics work? Lets move past Stage 1 denial on what our situation was/has been the past few years.

If you want to understand Arizona at all, it was telling in 2009 that Mike Stoops received a raise to $1M from $685K and they hired Sean Miller at $2.2M.
