RichRod rips Pac 12 late games schedule

I am not buying it, sounds like AZ may need to re-evaluate how they travel. Mora's argument is more legit, the Student-Athletes needs to miss the minimum class room hours as possible.

I love the night games. The Oregon game delay sucked but they are still a lot of fun. Definitely need to mix it up though, 4 straight is a little much.

I am worried about my health. I hate the night games. In November they are brutal. The USC game 2 years ago almost killed me. I hate getting home after midnight. I am beat all day Sunday.

Is it too much to ask that the kickoffs are more in the 5pm to 7pm area though?

8 pm gets pretty old pretty fast.

This fan base will complain about anything. People hate being on the Pac-12 network, they put us on ESPN and FS1 but it is too late. People complain about the early start times because of their kids games and student attendance.

First time on the internet? There is porn on the internet. It is nice but something has to balance that scale.

I like a couple night games per year. Preferably never starting after 7:00 PM, though. Ideally, the perfect start time is around 2:00 PM. Back in the day, all CU games started at 1:00. Then TV came in and ruined everything.

I assume we get the crap, night slots because we suck and no one wants to watch us. If we ever get better, I assume we will start getting the good, day slots again.

Saturday night is better than Thursday or Friday or Sunday.

If only Boulder had more affordable hotel space... It's not the late game that is the killer. It's that miserable drive on 36 returning to Cenntenial or Littleton or Cherry Creek or Wash Park that sucks.

Crashing in Boulder and having a leisurely Sunday breakfast the next morning is the tits.

You think a night game is better than a beautiful October afternoon game in Boulder? Nothing compares.

Did I say that? No I just said I loved night games. I don't really care if the game is during the day because I am going to tailgate during the day on campus in the beautiful weather anyways. It also gives me time to get some stuff done before heading up to Boulder for the day.

Yup. I love it.

I hate the late games. Waiting until 9-10pm to watch a game on the east coast is rediculous.

Last week, a very interesting matchup between two of the P12 best teams, UCLA @ Stanford, started at 10pm here on a Thursday. Way to put some of your best your product in front of more viewers P12! Great marketing job!

I'll take the night game so I can spend the beautiful Saturday afternoon hiking (which I did before both the Oregon and Arizona games).

I agree nothing compares -- so, in order to optimize beautiful Boulder October Saturdays, it works best if I can spend the daylight hours hiking and the dark hours watching football.

I couldn't agree more with RichRod. in the East Coast we've had a 1am start, 2 9:00 pm starts and now this week 10 fukin 30pm. It sucks. Play the damn games on Saturday afternoon. ESPN and Fox have basically made us their late night TV football filler time. It sucks.

This a thousand times over.

There are places in Louisville. And don't drive on 36 to get there. Arapahoe is a 15 minute drive away.

The conference should just agree to a rule where if the team can't get back home by midnight after a game, then they get another night in the hotel, and they can leave the next morning. Maybe the conference can subsidize the extra cost since their the ones acquiescing to the networks.

The Pac 12's too big a region for road teams to regularly fly home after every road game, especially since the west coast is always going to get stuck with the late start times.

Making teams fly through the night is brutal on recovery and their sleep patterns. It probably brings down the performance of the whole conference overall really.

The problem with scheduling earlier is that Fox and ESPN didn't pay the Pac-12 for early games with poor tv ratings. They wanted something to fill the late night slot.
