RG is not ****ing around here. Lots of additional details to consume - including fund raising goals that will increase. For fund raising: please keep in mind, every little bit helps!

Edit - cleaned up to list football only objectives - BBall objectives posted in the Bball thread.

I like it seeing these types of things in writing. RG has vision and I hope we can keep him around for awhile.

We need to continue to support the plan with continued strong fundraising and facilities upgrades. Can't sit on the new stuff as long as we did with Dal Ward.

I like the plan, kinda high expectations and goals in such a narrow window? but I understand, you have to draw the line somewhere.

I don't think any of these are unreasonable. The football program was just playing in a Pac 12 Championship in year 4 of MM's tenure. Is it too high of a goal to win one in years 5, 6, or 7? Also, the New Year's Six bowl game goal is automatically accomplished by achieving the Pac 12 Championship goal. Then you have the yearly bowl bid goal, which should be the expectation year in, year out.

A goal of playing in the CFP, National Championship, or winning a Natty would be in the unreasonable category, IMO.

Win the P12, and there's a fairly good chance that you accomplish this one too...

Not saying unattainable, just saying that is a really tight line. Next season we are replacing over half the offense, and some of the key younger players are not getting play time during the "easy" part of the schedule like we all hoped. The schedule the next two seasons will be a lot tougher. Like I said, I like goals, I like setting the bar high. I am also saying lets be realistic at the same time.

True, although, I think that is a slightly higher step up as I think a CFP invite would only happen with a one loss P12 Champ. Not impossible, but a 12-1 season would qualify as pretty high goal, IMO. Point taken, though.

That's the point, though. A sign of a healthy football program is consistently having the right mix of talent and experience to field a competitive team that will win 6-7 games per year, at a very minimum. Using the excuse that we replace half the offense and our young players aren't getting enough experience this year, is just that, an excuse. We replaced 8 defensive players from 2016, who all are either on an NFL roster or at least were in an NFL camp, yet the defense has been the pretty solid for the most part. Every program in the country has to replace key players every year, and if the only way MM can get this team to compete for P12 Championships is by having a Senior laden team, every 3-4 years, then he isn't going to last much longer.

It should always be a goal to win the national championship and the conference championship. That's what you should be working towards. That doesn't mean the definition of success is a MNC.

In other words, you don't fire MM for not winning a natty when he wins 9 or 10 games in a season.

Are we really sure the schedule is going to be a lot tougher the next two seasons?

Good point. CSU, @Nebraska, New Hampshire in 2018 and then CSU, Nebraska, Air Force in 2019 aren't exactly brutal OOC schedules. Probably right where CU needs to be each season, tbh.

You have to also look at teams in our conference that we will be playing on the road and where their "rebuild" takes place.

be sweet if that was our whole schedule. nubs and csu will be tough as usual.

The unbalanced schedule tips in our favor next season. Yeah, there will likely be some tough road games, but that is not a daunting schedule.

Our conference games are what they are. Some years are going to be more challenging than others, but over a 3-4 year period it all about balances out. Why is that being made into an excuse for having the goal of winning a conference championship?

12-0 baby

This says to me with more aggressive goals being stated that the standard has been set, the goals have been placed, the tools (facilities, unis, new HC contract, money for assistants, etc) have been given to recruit the highest quality student athletes to get to this level and win. No excuses, especially not for the coaches.

CU has won a conference championship in every decade. RG is taking this to heart, it seems.

If this is to come to fruition? We better step on the gas....clock is ticking...
