RMS Attendance

dply

Doble hoja
Any word on what each school is bringing attendance wise so far?

I'm starting to believe that CSU is once again having issues with filling their share of the tickets. I'm not sure what was Barzil reported but I'm guessing recent announcements are due to the CSU administration realizing that even with a new coach attendance hasn't seen much of a bump. I also think that is why their AD has postponed the stadium announcement until October.

I know gasm will say, "Derp derp derp derp jelly."

The rumor is that the ticket bump is 'slight' on the CSU side. No idea on the CU side.

Go check the game out on StubHub - it was fascinating to see the difference.

I saw your post on the stubhub thing and that is really telling. Something is definitely up right now. It will be really sad if ram fans can only muster up another 5%-10% attendance bump with a MNC coach against their biggest rivals. If they don't show up to the RMS it gives the anti-stadium people that much more ammunition.

This is the time their fans need to do anything in their power to do. You have four tickets to the game? Why not buy four more and donate them to big brothers/big sisters? They need to, no they have to sell out their allotment.

The last few years, I could have counted the number of csu fans sitting in the upper ring on the east side, should not be any different this year. And yes, CU is the west side. CSU fans are just as pathetic as their football program.

Does anybody know who the "home" team is this year?

I'm at work, so I couldn't link this the way I wanted, but it shows the stub hub ticket sales

So, only CU people are selling tix? Does this mean CSU people didn't even BUY tix to sell?

They aren't selling tix, and anyone who wants to get a ticket will still have an easier time getting one through their AD

Are they playing Wyoming at Invesco too?

I would venture to say that most if not almost all of the tickets on Stubhub come from season ticket holders who are stuck with tickets to a game they either don't want to or can't attend for various reasons. It would follow based on this that you don't see many CSU tickets for sale.

To start with this game is their super bowl. While CU season ticket holders can look forward to games against USC, Oregon, etc. CSU fans can look forward to getting beat down by North Dakota State and a host of MWC schools.

Secondly to have season ticket holders who want to sell their tickets you first have to have season ticket holders. Since the entire CSU season ticket base would fit comfortably into more that a few Colorado high school stadiums it would require most of them to want to dump the tickets before it would register.

There will be around 55k again maybe pushing it to 60k.

The official attendance may be announced as that again but the actual attendance will be close to 40 K. Two years ago there could not of been much over 40k in the stands and last year was only slightly better.

20-25k are CU season ticket holders.

Another 15-20k are student tickets.

Very conservatively, there are another 5k CSU season ticket holders.

That's 40-50k in attendance before anyone buys a single game ticket.

If we end up with only 55k tickets sold, that tells us beyond any doubt that this game is not popular. It is not attracting hordes of alums and fans from the city who don't normally go to Boulder or FoCo for games. IT IS NOT WORKING!!! KILL THIS GAME!!!

It sure doesn't draw me. I only need to be treated badly by our Denver "hosts" so many times before I start finding better places to spend my money. This year I'll watch the game from Daytona beach.
