The above was an email I recently received. I just got the follow-up call when I didn't respond.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year. This should be an incredible event.

Who is in? We're going to need event reports on AllBuffs.

Well, obviously not going ot make it up form Austin, BUT...does anyone know if there's a way to get a live web feed of the event? I was thinking if I could hook one up even through Skype or something, to get the Austin Club together at our game watch place to watch the presentations.

Probably going with my brother & dad. $50 seems a bit steep but would like to support the new regime.

Planning on it, as long as my work schedule allows. Been hella busy lately, and this is always like a three -hour commitment due to the drive there and back.

A Damn good reason to take off work for this.

BuffNick: If you park anywhere close to the Hyatt or Convention Center You'll have to fork over another $20.00 as the parking lots around their are the most expensive ones. My advice would be to park at one of the $5.00 lots close to coors field and then take the shuttle up the mall

I should be there. With what may prove to be a very interesting party of 9 others.:smile2:

Advice about mall shuttle is right-on.

No love this year, working. Definitely will be there next year to hear about all the 5* talent that will be coming in to bolster the defending PAC12 champs.

Would one of you guys let us know how the turn out is after it is done? I'm hoping they will fill up all the spots. I think when you throw in an appearance by Larry Scott and Salaam the price isn't too bad.

BOULDER-The University of Colorado will hold its annual Football Preview Luncheon, set for Thursday, February 3 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Convention Center with featured speaker Rashaan Salaam. The 1994 Heisman Trophy winner is making his first public appearance for CU since his record breaking season over 16 years ago.

CU head football coach Jon Embree will introduce fans to the newest members of the football team who are anticipated to sign National Letters of Intent throughout the day Wednesday. Other speakers include Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, former CU coach Bill McCartney and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Football season ticket holders along with Buff Club members can reserve a seat for $50, and others can attend for $75. A table for 10 guests is available for $500 and for $750, a corporate table featuring preferred seating, program recognition and the option of sitting with a VIP guest, can be purchased. Tickets can be purchased at www.CUBuffs.com/tickets through Monday or at 303/492-2200 thereafter.

Guests will also be given a special opportunity to donate to the new Football Excellence Fund with special prizes given to the tables who collectively donate the most. Everyone that fills out a pledge card will be entered in a drawing to win a chance to travel with the football team to an away game during the 2011 season.

Also available for donors is a retro CU helmet with signatures from Embree, Bieniemy, Salaam, assistant coach Brian Cabral and Darian Hagan. For a donation of $5,000, of which $4,800 is tax deductable, fans can get the helmet and a photo opportunity with those five former Buffs. A photo-only option will also be available.

Please contact the Buff Club at 303-492-2200 to take advantage of this limited opportunity. The Hyatt Regency Denver Convention Center is located at 650 15th St. in Denver. The Luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the program starting at noon.

Just ordered my tix, talked another buddy into going, first time I've been able to attend.

I've been to several of these events and this is very common. They generally turn into a big fundraising event where it becomes somewhat uncomfortable if you're not bidding on stuff and donating money. I should add that this doesn't bother me in the least, but the atmosphere is sometimes akin to a time share sales presentation.

Yeah, but I've been to some events where the fundraising aspect is kept low key, too. I'd hope this is focused on next season and introducing the new players and coaches.

So far ..

we'll see

My work has been erratic lately, but I have my ticket. I had planned to take off Weds for LOI day, but got called in. Thursday is still a good bet, but as bob loblaw said "we'll see."

I'll be there. I attended several in the Hawkins years but skipped the last two - look forward to going again now that Hawk is gone.

For those of you going, we want a full report on the luncheon. I'm especially interested in your take on the new coaching staff. Some are well known buff family but others we know almost nothing about. Anything you can give us on their attitude, what they are focusing on for the team, what they believe are the team's biggest challenges, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Typo of the year, or freudian slip.

While waiting in the beer line in the Club Room I dropped it on a pompous ku fan that irked me at the Foam Dome last week and I kinda liked it, figured I'd test it out on you guys and see if it gets legs.

So how was it guys? Two thumbs up?? Whats the deal with the "Excellence Fund"? Thanks.
