The last 3 seasons

RPI 1-30 100% of teams get in
RPI 31-40 91% of teams get in and pretty much 100% of majors
RPI 41-50 64% of teams and most majors with some good wins
RPI 51-60 36% of teams
RPI 61-70 12% of teams
RPI over 67 0%​
 
As much as people complain about the RPI, that's a very fair breakdown. Basketball does a very good job of being realistic about why an 18-12 record can be representative of a much better team than a squad that plays no one and goes 24-6.

Really ... none of the AQ's (e.g. small conference tourney winners) have had an RPI higher than 67%? That seems strange.
 
Virginia and Indiana State are easily on track to be the two that give the Selection Committee the biggest headaches
