Sal Aunese-Born to Lead Doc

I recall last year a thread about the ESPN 10 minute piece (which I did find the thread for) and I remember someone discussing there is also a full-length documentary coming out. I haven't seen any posts or threads about it.

http://www.borntoleadfilm.com/

Holy sh**. I am so pumped for that to come out. I became a Buffs fan that year even though I had never set foot in the state of Colorado yet (I later moved to Colorado and got an advanced degree at CU). His story is so captivating and how he helped Coach Mac catapult the team to our National Championship.

Obviously coach Mac is in there and Lou Holtz talks us up and EB for sure. Not sure if Embree was interviewed in it or not.

This is kind of our Rudy film and I hope it not only inspires Buff Nation but also helps JE bring us back to the promised land. It appears to be done in a way that could inspire recruits and our current players.

Can't wait! Anyone know when in 2012 it is coming out?

After I posted that, I did some more digging and found this info on IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1836755/

It lists all the people interviewed for the Doc. Slick Rick :bang: but also Junior Seau (who is in the trailer), Bosworth, Gary B, Les Miles, Fowler...

Release Date: October 2012
Budget: $450k

I hope the AD's office does something big with this doc and also helps turn it into a blockbuster.

We should do our part using social media, etc. when it comes out too.

I wonder if it ever will come out. It seems like it is always just about to come out.

Rudy is the worst film ever made. I ****ing hate Rudy. To compare anyone at CU to Rudy makes me want to punch everyone in the face.

OK Burrito-I know you have a thing against me and for some crazy reason you think I am a troll, but I am not saying Sal and Rudy have anything in common because they don't have much except they both played college football and both had a movie made about them.

Rudy is a white kid, walk-on at ND who barely played and was never expected to be anything special and did little to contribute to any success ND had. Sal was an All-American Samoan QB who had high expectations from the beginning and exceeded them and inspired our only NC while losing his battle to cancer. I am not comparing their stories but the bigger picture for CU.

My point is ND has a huge national brand and CU doesn't. ND is the type of school that gets inspirational movies made about it and we haven't been. The fact that CU will have its own inspirational football movie made about it I believe is significant and puts us up there with an elite few. I feel it could be leveraged to help CU grow its brand nationally and could even help in recruiting.

Sean Astin played Rudy and BP hates Sean Astin and anyone who looks like him.

Think he hates me too but it's good to have some enemies:lol: I emailed the producers yesterday so I'll report back with any updates. I know it has dragged on a while but it looks to me that it is legitimately coming out this year.

Point taken. I really hate Rudy, so that wasn't about you, you just happened to compare anything CU with Rudy which set me off. I don't think you're a troll, I think sometimes you post things in inopportune places, where they can be misconstrued to our detriment.

Hello there. 'Born To Lead: The Sal Aunese Story' is coming out this year, 2012. It is a very inspirational documentary feature sports film, and we have been working very hard to produce the best doc film that we can. I have read a lot of posts here, and I would like to add some more information.

1. We respond to all email inquiries that come in to our production company.

2. If you have specific questions, you can direct them to me or, better yet, check in with www.borntoleadfilm.com from time to time for updates (we will be expanding that site to include announcements, updates, etc. throughout the spring and summer, 2012).

3. Understand that making a film is a very, very complex process. It takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day !

4. I have an 'open door' policy. We do give feedback and we do get back to all inquiries....maybe not the same day because we are busy working on the film, but we will get back to you if you email us.

Thank you.

No, we posted 3 different ones....one had an extra number to it, and one was to another unique person. If you read it carefully,
they are indeed different.
George
Ummm, you doth protest too much. Thanks for the info tho.

This is AllBuffs. "Reading carefully" is not our longsuit.

Copy that !! Too funny ! Just wanted to be clear ... We really do count on this organic process to get the word out for the film....
Please do not hesitate to tweet, facebook, etc. .... to get people to go watch the trailer at www.borntoleadfilm.com
As this will truly be the "hub" of all film news, updates, etc. as the months progress in 2012 to the release date. THANKS !!
