Saturday 11/26 - Buffs' Implications

I know this stuff has been covered in various threads here and there, but I just was hoping someone could summarize the possibilities and give me some guidance as to which teams I should be rooting for or against tomorrow. I think the Houston loss and the UW blow out were both good for the buffs, right? What should we be looking for if we want:

a)A Rose Bowl berth

or

b)A spot in the playoffs

I'd imagine that both scenarios would require the buffs to beat Utah, which is something I do not count as in-the-bag at all. They are a good team and are not to be taken lightly. Our game is a late one, though, and I just want to know who I should be pulling for as the day progresses.

This is certainly more exciting than in recent years past.

Go Buffs!

At the moment our most likely shot to get in the playoffs is for us to beat Utah and Washington and not have Penn St one Wisconsin win the Big 10 OR Clemson not win the ACC. If we win out and get what we need in one of those conferences we are in.

And maybe root for Oklahoma to win??? Only because CU would most likely jump them in a "CU wins out scenario" and you are ****ing with cosmically unrealistic statistics (OU losing, Ohio State losing, Clemson losing, Penn State losing, all in the same weekend).

CU may very well go to the Rose bowl if the team wins against Utah and loses a close win against UDub. Part of the criteria for picking a Rose Bowl team is how well the committee believes it makes for a feel good story and how long the team hasn't gone to the Rose Bowl. As with most bowls I don't think there is any obligation. They just get the first pick out of all bowl eligible Pac12 teams.

AFAIK, CU has never been and is currently CFB's darling.

But let's just win out and see where the chips fall.

Really no bad scenarios for the Buffs. Some are better though.
