Say it ain't so, Sipili

Not good for him. If he's convicted for that, isn't he also on the block for his previous deferred sentence? Maybe that was in there and I missed it?

EDIT: If this is true, I feel very, very bad for the female victim, of course.

And if i can channel Gateway for a moment, I also feel sad for a young man I thought had turned it around after the school judicial board jacked him (admittedly based on some questionable judgment on Sipili's part).

bad decisions to even be in this situation. innocent until proven guilty, but the word "repeatedly" is not a good sign here.

That's untrue.

I'd argue that there's merit to BCS's statement (yeah, I know, I feel dirty). The Riar Geer case made be believe that football players aren't getting a fair shake.

When the Boulder Police speculate that Geer threw the first punch, which broke the other dude's jaw, and knocked him unconscious, but on the way to the ground the "victim" was able to get a shot off and punch Geer, something is wrong. Especially when their speculation flew in the face of witness statements.

This program cannot catch a break....

I don't know how bad this is for the program. Look, much of the football-watching nation--without any real insight--already condemns CU as a school of rapists and cheaters. This changes nothing in their perception.

Bad. Bad. Bad. I had really hoped that he had put his life together after everything that went down in 2007. Very bad situation. On the one hand, I hope he didn't do it. On the other hand, I'd hate to think the girl is lying about it.

Disagree. CU has worked hard over the past several years to change that perception. Thinks like this are a real set back in that effort.

Personally, I think if anything changed that peception at all, it was losing. Losers don't tend to be regarded as cheaters.

I am coming around to your way of thinking--that this is probably going to be a set back to the hard work the Athletic Departement and university has done to change the image for this team--I still hear too often what a bunch of bad guys are on our FB team.

When I explain the circumstances regarding the recruiting party, it tends to fall on deaf ears.

check bounced? :smile2:

when did she file charges?

why did it take so long to charge him?

I'm not sure this makes sense. Isn't the fact that the police department took their time investigating a good thing? The article says they have been investigating for more than a month so she must have made the complaint pretty soon after the incident.

As Walrus said, I hope that he gets a fair hearing.

People seem to be forgetting the mantra that "What happens in the Pol forum stays in the Pol forum".

What?

If this is true this guy is a real scumbag and I hope he goes to jail for a very long time.

This is very bad for the football program. DII completely demolished the football program and brought in guys like this (again if this is true)? What exactly was he doing the right way?

Major setback for the university.

I hardly see how Mike is done, not like he was telling Sipili to go rape this girl. Terrible move by Sipili though, he'll get his own in jail though.
