I wont and cant say anything more than the rest of you about the debacle last night, the way it was played, and the mess that is this team. One thing we need to change though is our scheduling I know much of this is still on Bohn, but opening with CSU when we do, and ESPECIALLY opening on the road at 11pm is setting yourself up for failure.

You don't play your longest road trip of the year, at 11pm at night, in game 1, against an FBS opponent, you just don't do it. Game 1 should always be in Folsom, in the afternoon, against a cupcake.
 
Agree on the time and place, not so much the level of opponent.

BTW Hawaii, is a cupcake. We are just worse.
 
Schedules sometimes are what they have to be but, yeah, it would've been optimal to open at home against Nichols Sate and go to Hawaii for game 2. Get some kinks identified or worked out in a less disaster-potential environment.

I made no excuses - I said we need to stop doing it, what is done is done we had no business losing that game.

There are a mountain of betting statistics and other performance numbers that prove your assertion about late starts not mattering, or for that matter early starts, and longer road trips to be wrong. It is a bad plan and an unnecessary handicap that we should be smart enough to avoid.
 
You know your team sucks when your team needs to avoid playing Hawaii to open the season.

My only complaint was the stupid 11pm start. This game should have started at least two hours earlier.

he did catch that monster break with Fresno getting pulled off the schedule and getting replaces with charelston.
 
There isn't a football team in America that we could schedule who I'd feel confident against. FBS, FCS, high school, college, lingerie football league, pee wee - we would find a way to lose to anybody, anywhere, at any time.

No way, the demand for Nichols OOC is too high. Lucky we got them in at all.

Flying in 48hrs before the game is not enough time to acclimate. Allowing TV to set the time so late was also dumb. It was 2am in the 3rd quarter. So yeah, that was a dumb scheduling move.

If we had had an earlier kickoff Id like to think wed have seen a different outcome than what we saw.
 
No excuse to lose this game. If we aren't better than Hawaii then heads should roll.

You don't allow an 11:00pm start time after a long flight though. Simply stupid.

I wouldn't object to future games in Hawaii, we should beat them and it makes a nice trip from a recruiting standpoint. Simply be smart enough to write a contract that starts the game at a decent time. Idiotic move not to do that, not surprising considering who did it.
 
At least we aren't the Washington R-words franchise :/ that's a dumpster fire that keeps on giving.
 
CU should schedule all season openers at Folsom and against FCS opponents until they make a bowl game again. No projections for when they are going to be good again. Cupcake it with a friendly audience and climate and keep it that way until the roster (and the STAFF) have won enough games to feel like they can beat anybody.

Hawaii is a trap. Until you've proven you can go 5-4 ever in the Pac-12, Hawaii is a trap. Opening the season with all that rust, on the longest road trip of the year, is setting up for failure. Ask every CU coach with a career losing record who has coached an away game on the island. Add to that the 13th game which takes away the bye week AND requires 7 wins for a bowl game and forget about it. You're not getting that W. Now you need to go 7-5 the rest of the way. Congratulations, geniuses.

giving what exactly? concussions?

Were there any Buffs injuries this morning? I didn't see anything reported. If not, at least we have that going for us into next week.
