Why are there some many ****ing injuries? ****! I am really concerned that it is not just bad luck, but a bad strength and conditioning coach. That is way too many injuries for a team in one year.
The amount of injuries have been a lot this year...but most teams are playing with injured players out, or hampered, at this point in the season. Injuries are a part of football..a coaching staff that does not prepare their team to step into other roles when injuries occur, are those teams which play more poorly as the season goes on.
Maybe the players and coaches will get up for the Nebraska game..maybe. Otherwise, it seems like there is little fire or passion, on the sidelines, or on the field. I would like to see Hawk scream at officials, or get in the face of his players when it's needed..or see the players with a little pushing and shoving the other team after plays.........in other words, show some competitive fire, da****it.

Funny you mention that. My wife is a personal trainer, and she believes it's bad conditioning. They need to peak during the game, so must rest the day before, and that they are getting injured because they are being pushed too hard and told through to muscle through games and practice to compensate for inexperience and bad coaching.
She told me of the training routines the NFL players follow in order to avoid injury and handle 16 games even they are older and that she doubts this strength and conditioning coach is using anything similar.
Now, this is just speculation based on her experience and knowledge of athletic training programs.
So, YES, we agree with you, sounds like the program isnt working very well.
I forget the exact number, but during the telecast they mentioned the total number of games missed due to injury for the Buffs and it was an astonishing number.
I think it was over 100.
Okay, I'll play the devils' advocate.
If this were true, why didn't Hawk's boise state teams have alot of injuries? Why didn't the Buffs suffer similar types and numbers of injuries last year?
Point is, this team has had a rash of injuries from a variety of incidents, but I'm not sold that they are a product of the s&c program. For instance, Miller and Stewart suffered broken bones. Walters hurt his knee/ankle when he planted and tried to change direction. MTM and J Major had knee injuries in non-contact drills during practice. Iltis had someone fall on his knee during a scrimmage. Scott is the only one I can think of who is a direct result of strength and conditioning, and his is actually a lack of s&c - had he been here working out during the summer, who knows what might have happened.
According to Plati's pregame notes last night, counting games players out for the year will miss, the minimum will be 111. I doubt that counted Dykes or Scott last night. All but 8 of those games are guys on the 2 deep. :sad1:

ouch. ouch. ouch.
So what happened to Dykes? Did he fall off the face of the Earth? Why was he not introduced on Senior night?
Damn. Now it's even getting the fans.... :sad1:
Darn, I just stood up turned and blew my knee!![]()
