Sefo is in-Good Call?

I am down with it. Wood is just not moving the ball the past few games. Let's build for the future and try to get a spark going for the rest of the season.

Good to at least see what we have in a real-time game situation. You can't simulate far superior competition in practice.

If this turns into another Tyler Hansen situation, I'll be upset...but if he stays the starter for the rest of the year, Im ok with it...

This. We see wood starting next week and there will be a ****fest around here.

Yes. Playing C. Southern for a full game should get Sefo into a good rhythm and really help his confidence. A real blessing on the schedule for a QB change midseason.

Not looking like Wood will start next week at this rate. He hasn't moved the ball for s* the past few weeks and Sefo's first drive as a true freshman is the best drive we have had in a month. Hope it finishes with a TD.

That doesn't mean Wood won't see the field this year but Sefo is going to play plenty.

I'm cool with it as long as he gets a lot of meaningful reps for the rest of the season.

It's early but based on that 1st drive, looks like we have found our QB for a while.

He is making good decisions and what I like most about him compared to Wood, is he doesn't have happy feet. He stays in the pocket in the face of pressure and delivers.

Obviously he is going to make some freshman mistakes but I can deal with that.

Yes! He starts until he shows that he shouldn't be. Looks great so far on that first drive. If he keeps that up, we should get 3 more years of good QB play.

Absolutely the right move to start using Sefo. You don't save guys after a 1-11 season when you are rebuilding. The assumption is that by the time this guy would be a five year senior, we will have (hopefully with this QBs help) won enough games to be recruiting better raw talent by that time that would start (even as younger guys) ahead of the QB whose redshirt you burned. At this point, as someone said earlier, you start the best guy and hope he gives you more wins so that you can recruit better people.

Not only a good call, it was the only call.

When a 4th year junior who had fragile confidence to begin with has completely turtled on you, there's no turning that around.

This team cannot win unless it gets good quarterback play. Hell, it probably can't even compete unless the QB is going well.

At this point, I've seen all I need to see from any of the QBs who have been in the program. On that note, the RBs too. It's got to be the Sefo and Adkins show from here on out.

The OL is another story. I've got no idea what to do on that one other than try to sign some JUCOs.

I agree.

Sefo is the starter at QB, Adkins at RB with Powell being the 3rd down, grind it out back

PRich is still kind of thin and gets pushed around a bit and he is a big time team player so he may just stick around for his senior year. That would make a world of difference for next year.

But after that, we're at a loss for big time playmakers and bonafide BCS athletes on the offensive side. Who else do we have at WR who can stretch the field? We have no TEs that are any good, and as you said, our OL looks terrible.

Let's not forget about the defense. Pathetic.

Yes. Wood will not stay in the pocket and that late throw across the middle was the straw that broke the camel's back. Wood is a good athlete and has a decent arm, but appears to be ahead case with happy feet.

Big mistake putting Sefo in. He's going to get clobbered, both on the field and in the press/on campus, and it will mostly be because the rest of the team is crap right now, but it will play out like it's his fault. Not many young QBs are can survive that kind of a gauntlet run.

This season is garbage, it was going to be garbage from the beginning. I'd rather we beat up the old guard QB's while the rest of the team works the bugs out than destroy the psyche of one of the QBs of the future.

I dunno, guys. What's the point ? God himself could be at qb behind that line and he'd look like Webb or wood. We don't have the horses across the board. I'm not militant about the decision. I understand it. I just don't think it matters.

It doesn't really matter. Now and not in 4 years when Sefo is a senior if we can't get other BCS caliber players.

I just hope he doesn't get hurt and we lose his RS year for what amounts to a few snaps.

I don't like it. But Hopefully he is given a chance to make mistakes and learn from his mistakes. There will be some growing pains playing behind a bad OL, and bad running game.

It's absolute desperation mode for this OL. It is so atrocious it's beyond words and it's not like we've exactly got a ton of promising guys waiting in the wings. We need help ASAP.

Good call because it gives me a shred of hope for next year. Adkins and Sefo are the only reasons I feel like we might score points next year.

Never bought the Connor Wood hype. I am not going to say I told you so. Because it will accomplish nothing. Please stop hyping QBS that is throwing deep balls against 3rd string DB's in spring ball. I still think Nick Hirschman was better than Connor Wood.
