From Ted Miller

Colorado is reporting that X-rays to quarterback Sefo Liufau's ankle were negative after he was knocked out of the Buffaloes loss at Michigan, but his status is decidedly uncertain for a visit to Oregon on Saturday. The Ducks have their own injury issues as running back Royce Freeman and offensive lineman Tyrell Crosby were lost in the defeat at Nebraska. Their status also appears doubtful for this weekend.

Thank god, I feel like the season would be all for not if he was knocked out in game 3

Gilbert is Mccartneys replacement right? There was a noticeable drop off with gilbert in there. Don't think he's big enough against a team like Michigan to be effective, but maybe a team like Oregon fits his skill set better.

No. Shaver. Played better than Gilbert

I like Shaver a lot. Seems to have been a guy in search of a position to settle into, but every time they have put him on the field the dude has been active and made plays.

Actually of all the players Oregon lost last week his injury hurts the least. I know it sounds odd, but we have 4 great RB's behind him. Luckily for you guys Helfrich will still be coaching the Ducks next week which means my ducks are ****ed.
If Sefo plays, yeah they are ****ed. This team is dialed in with him at the helm.

I went 2 years ago, had a blast. Hopefully we'll be more competitive this go round.

Shaver played well. We get Falo back this week. I'd rather see Leavitt put Falo at ILB in place of Gamboa(slooow) or Gillam(ineffective) and let Shaver et al. keep playing the OLB/DE position.

Plus we played the 3-4 front (5-2 really) against Michigan due to their running game. We'll play a lot more nickel (4-2-5) against Oregon so I'd like to see Falo backing up Gamoboa instead of Gillam. Eventually he should take over the position. IDK what's up with Lewis.

Don't know if this is accurate, but what I heard with Lewis is that he's learning the system. Pretty complex defense from Leavitt, especially for linebackers. Allegedly, he's not quite to the point where they can trust him to know his assignments along with everyone else's. Gamboa, Olugbode and Gillam do know it, though. I expect Lewis will play more as the season goes along.

I'd rest Sefo. Not too many of us expects CU to beat Oregon but REALLY need him at home for Oregon St which is a MUST win for bowl hopes.
If there is any chance of aggravating the injury, you have to rest him - altho he won't like it. With the post-game comment and people talking about how he looked lost on the sidelines, Montez has a lot to overcome, and I hope he is tough enough.
He needs to practice well this week, get a lot of encouragement/support and be told "go out and do your best, nobody is expecting a miracle". Then, everybody hopes he delivers one.

If its a sprain, Sefo can't do a whole lot more too it by playing. I actually think he is going to tape the hell out of it after getting shot up with some cortisone and play next week. He is a warrior, and if he is physically able to fight with his brothers he is going to be out there.

Agreed. Sprains are all about pain management and trusting the stability. Shoot it up and wrap it tight.
