I hope SS2 goes before Cameron Ward but if that doesn’t happen, I would not be surprised.

Ward started out at Incarnate Word at the FCS level. That school moved up to FCS from D2 starting in 2013 so they aren’t that far off removed from being D2. Ward really tore it up in FCS ball and then transferred to WSU where Ward tore it up in the PAC-12. Then it was off to Miami where he had the Canes in contention for the ACC & CFP late into the season. That is three different football teams Ward was successful with.

But there’s the case of him sitting out in the second half of the bowl game against ISU.

I wanted to see him do everything at the combine but I get it. A lot of former top 3 QBs didn’t throw at the combine so it’s not a big deal. Plus, making CU’s pro day into a big event with him throwing to Jimmy, Wester, Sheppard and Hunter as a way to showcase them as well is going to be fun.
Throwing at the combine wouldn't help him but missing a bunch of throws to receivers he doesn't have timing with could hurt him.

It isn't uncommon for top QBs to wait until their pro days for this reason.

I think the top 3 QBs last year skipped the combine, I know Caleb Williams did, pretty sure Maye and Daniels did too.

The draft guys at The Athletic are down grading Shedeur. They don’t believe he can fit the ball in tight windows and point out he didn’t throw a lot of deep passes. They’re not convinced he’s a first round pick, but might get taken there out of desperation by a team.

I must spoiled because I always thought he was real accurate and had a lot of deep throws

That whole completion percentage thing must be misleading, not to mention he was sacked more in 2 years than any other QB in CFB.

Deep throws, fitting the ball in tight windows, hmmm let me see if I can remember a play or two or. . .
