Shocker in Buffs country for Cal game

Hello my neighborly Buffalo brethren,

If you venture in the basketball forum I spend 99.9% of my time over there, and have made some great friends from your fanbase. I have always wanted to come catch a hoops game, but it looks like I'll have to settle for just a football game if the opportunity arises while I'm in town for the Chiefs/Broncos game that Sunday. I'm traveling with a group of Bronco fans whose family have season tickets to the Broncos, it's me (Chiefs fan) my lady friend and then her brother and sister. I'm looking for two, maybe four tickets to that Cal game. I've checked on Stub Hub, and there are some decent deals on tickets, but figured I'd stop by and see if anyone had some extras lying around and wanted to get them off their hands for cheap.

At the very least, I'm thinking I'm going to buy 2 tickets and be at the game. If any of you guys want to tailgate and show me around town for a bit, a tour guide with booze would be appreciated! Hope to see some of my internet acquaintances while I'm out there.

I'm sure you will be very welcome at the all buffs tailgate dubbed sackygate. Sack man hosts these and is very generous and welcoming to everyone.

was going to say winning this game wouldn't be a shock, and that its not against ASU, so I'm confused. But then I actually read the thread. :woot:

Shiit. Do they really? What time is the Cal game? This is going to be a challenge, I think.
Yep. It is going to be a long day if I go to both which I probably will. The Cal game is TBD, but my guess is they scheduled a 10 am basketball game so you can still go to the football game later that afternoon. Hoping for like a 3 or 4 start.

I hope it's a 5 or 6 start, only way I'll be able to go to both

The football game would have to be at around 4PM in order to make that really work for tailgating. They would also have to open up the lots a lot earlier than normal. This could be messy. If the football game starts at 2:00, that's fine and dandy for folks who don't tailgate. For those that do, they're left with a choice of going to the basketball game or tailgating.

This may turn out to be one of those "lost" tailgates, I'm afraid. Seeing as the football schedule is determined by television, they don't give a damn about anything else. I could see a situation where you have 10,000 people running from the CEC to Folsom at Noon to catch a game that kicked off at 11:00.

Whoa... hoops on the same day too? This could be an epic CU adventure.

How hard is it to get tickets to the basketball game? Should I just take the stubhub route?

If not said to me on here, and was just told on the street to go to the Sackygate, I might decline... haha

Stubhub is a good route. The tickets are ridiculously cheap for that one. Like 5 bucks a piece for GA.

You don't want it to be too long between the bball and football games. If you go too long, the drinking to keep your buzz will tip you over into messy.

Ok guys, I need some advice on tickets right now. Looks like it's just the two of us attending the day's events in Boulder. Prior to this, I was looking for four tickets, and found a set of 4 in section 105 (visitors side, by 50 yard line), row 24 with a parking pass but you have to buy all 4, and they're $50 a piece. I found tickets in 103 (visitors side, by the goal line), row 14, that you can buy just two for.

Since this is a rarity for me to be able to attend a game, I want to make the most out of it, and obviously the 50 yard line seats sound the best to me, but I'm not sure if I'll have luck selling the other 2 tickets on StubHub in time and still come out solid on money. I won't worry about that if you all tell me those tickets by the endzone will be good viewing. Not sure how the stadium views, so help is needed. Will I have a good view with those tickets by the endzone?

Dead center of the blue hairs. Try getting in the East side of the stadium, the views in addition to the game are awesome; hell, closer to the endzone on the west side would be more fun than the 50.

Is stubhub less than just going through the CU ticket office? I'd expect there to be plenty of tickets remaining for that game and you could buy as many as you want. Parking on campus is $20 and there are a bunch of cash lots. The basketball game is going to complicate matters, though. The timing of these two games has the potential to be a real challenge.

yes, they are. But, buying from there is a little scary and you feel like your cheating and shorting our $ to the school.

All the tickets on the east side are quite a bit more expensive than the ones on the west side. Is the atmosphere really that drastic between the two sides? I mean I can handle some blue hairs if the difference in price on tickets is going to be near double. Plus I'm sure I could just pick up some old granny and make her crowd surf if we needed some life in the section.

I'm totally foreign to how tickets work with you guys, is the ticket GA and we can sit anywhere we want in the designated area? I'd like to sit with my other person going with me, and if all I have to do is find another GA ticket to make that happen, I'd very much take you up on that offer. Thanks... sweaty teets. hahaha a+ username.

You will be told to "sit down" constantly in a very sedate atmosphere. Just show up to the stadium and you will be able to get seats easily on the street or at Sackygate. I'm willing to bet you can score seats in the $10 - $15 range on game day.

its not a GA ticket, but if you get another ticket anywhere in the arena the two of you can sit in the GA area. this game will probably one of the least attended of the year so it shouldn't be a problem.

Noooooooooo

:tini:

Consider it a bonus for you. You can come watch the basketball game and experience a great basketball crowd.

No way. I want to tailgate and see who sucks more in football this year. Plus, I bet some of you guys. It seems like a lot of Cal fans might also be heading out there too-good travel destination and all.

They just moved the Broncos game to Sunday night, this could be an epic adventure for Shocker.

I'm already amped up about it. It's going to be a great weekend, with lots of sports to be watched. I talked with Goose about the ticket situation and I think I'm going to do what he told me, and a few others on here, and just try and get tickets from a scalper to the football game, the day of. Maybe watch stubhub over the next week and a half as well.

Really awful to hear about Coach Fox and his health scare. Speedy recovery to him, and best of luck to the Broncos working on filling that void, it will be interesting to see how the team responds with John being gone for a couple months.
