I can't remember ever hearing where he ended up. Any chance that he might be able to come back with the new coaching staff?
didn't he get into trouble for something?

I think he got a DUI. It was his second offense, and was booted. Hawk said at the time that if Simas straightened up and got his act together, there was a possibility that he could come back, but it was a slim possibility. I'm curious if he went the JUCO route, transfer, or is still somewhere around Boulder.
DUI, then blew off his court date was my recollection.
Didn't he miss court for the DUI charge. I remember a lot of people mad that Hawk didn't have someone remind him of his court date or something.
Hawk was unfairly blamed here, I have it on good authority there was a note in his lunchpail between the juicebox and burrito, signed by D II himself reminding him of the court date. What more could he have done?
He is still hanging around and has been trying to come back for next season. It was sounding like it would happen for a while, but I am not sure what has happened since Embree took over.
Thanks.
I'm sure Embree has a lot of other things he's dealing with right now. If Simas is sincere about coming back and is willing to do what it takes, he'd be great to have back on the team. I think he still has two years of eligibility left.
Maybe during the dark recruiting period, Embree can sit down with him and get a feel for things.
I thought I read someone on here or Rivals quote a coach saying "Not a chance." Don't remember for sure. If he is allowed to come back it should be as a walk on imo. Kid has blown too many opportunities to warrant a schollie.
I read that too. I think Simas' ship has sailed pertaining to CU.

**** that, I don't want him back.
Why not? The DUI? I realize that's nothing to trivialize, but your reaction makes it seem like there's some other reason you don't want him back. There's no denying the kid can play, and would be a huge asset to us on the field. His off-field issues certainly need to be addressed.
He made some dumb choices, but I'd definitely take him back.

He should go to a D2 school that can give him some good direction and academic support. The NFL is the least of his concerns. He needs to parlay that last year of eligibility into a college degree before he ends up in a Nebraska meat packing house, lamenting how he so clearly screwed up his life.
