Biggest question seems to be at Forward, with the midfield and defense pretty much all returning along with some reinforcements that came in. Look for freshman Martine Puketapu to make a splash.

Regarding season expectations (they're high).

How will the Buffs manage expectations?
CU did a terrible job in this regard two years ago, backing up two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances with that last-place finish in 2015. Yet with Kornieck in control of the offense and a rock-solid defense that returns intact, Sanchez expects his club to build on the program-record-tying 15 wins it posted last year.
"It really depends on the personality of the team, and we really like this group," Sanchez said. "We still have players with a lot to prove, even as seniors. It's a hungry group and they know there is always still a lot to prove."

Read the article several days ago and thought it was lacking a bit in that Rooney didn't ask about the transfers or freshmen that will help - Baucom and Barton in particular. Also there was no mention of the injury to Zuniga who didn't participate in spring practice and may miss this season and whether or not Shymka will be full go this fall after her ACL. Both of these players would help with goal production if healthy. If not, the newcomers (Puketapu, Baucom and Barton) should be able take care of goal scoring.

I'll be at the picnic dinner tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some updates. And also hoping it doesn't get rained out.

This team has a real chance to win a championship this year, be it the Pac-12 or potentially a National title.

Playing in the Pac must be a fun and intense challenge*** for any competitive athlete and team, but the Buffs showed they could do it last year and just need to take the next step.

(***For those Buff fans who don't follow soccer that closely, USC won the National Championship last season, and three other Pac teams ended up ranked in the top 16 (Stanford (#6), UCLA (#13) and Utah (#16)). And, in the teaser part (that can be viewed without a premium subscription) of its premium article listing its rankings of the top 2017 recruiting classes , topdrawersoccer.com's top three freshmen recruiting classes in the country coming into this season are, in order, Stanford, UCLA and Cal.)

This is a big deal. One of the coaches we need to get on a multi-year deal.
