Speculation & rumors on injuries — Don’t do it

If there is one thing that pisses off the coaches, administrators, players and parents it is when we take it upon ourselves to release injury info or we make public assumptions and speculations about extent of an injury or recovery time.

I understand that injuries are a topic. They have to be. But let’s be sure that we are talking in terms of known, published facts.

For example, it’s ok to say that there are injury questions on the OL because we know Lynott needed surgery, Miller was in and out of the lineup, and Moretti has been in recovery from a HS injury. That absolutely raises questions.

But too much speculation leads to things being assumed as true as groupthink. Let’s try to remember that we have valid questions but we don’t have many details or answers.

Thank you.

Good and thoughtful post Nik. Would hate to be a kid having a bunch of people speculating on what may be going on with their injury using innuendo and rumor. They deserve better.

What's intereating to me is the implication that the CU coaching staff not only reads Allbuffs (a bit surprising in itself), but actually gives a shjt over what anonymous posters say.
The staff not as much, but we know with certainty that parents do.

Anyone who discusses injuries is simply giving the enemy valuable intel...what should we do with people like that?

I have a sore place on my upper back/neck, I may have strained something....oh wait, never mind.

Shocked this thread keeps getting bumped. Its honestly not a subject i had ever given a moments thought before.

Is anyone aware of, or even suspect, that the coaching staff ever changed their approach to managing a player injury because of (incorrect or otherwise) comments on a fan board?

No. Weird question.
