Sacky started this as far as I know. Several of us have sent emails to Bohn volunteering to sponsor a kid to the ABQ game.

It's $50 a head. lets get them all there.

Not sure if they will take us up on it. but email Mike Bohn and tell him you'll send one. Make the AD know the fans are out here helping however we can.

You guys can't be serious. I was broke as **** in college and I sure as hell coulda come up with $50 to ride the train to ABQ for that awesome experience. If I'm donating $50 to something, it sure isn't this. Give me a break (then neg rep me).
 
I think it's a fine idea, not only because we're helping students save a few bucks, but this gesture tells the AD that the fans care and support the program.

I get what you are saying but if sacky and co want to spend $50 I can think of a lot worse things than this.

Just made the same offer to AD.
 
i believe its davidson, but their alums send the entire student body to the dance. this isn't that awful of an idea azbuff, in fact its awesome.

I just want as many Buffs in the crowd as possible. It will be a lot harder for the 101st person to get there. Anyone can scrap together 50 bucks. For the record I think its cool you guys want to sponsor everyone though.

The issue there is that they only have room for 100 on the charter buses, block of hotel rooms they got, etc. I don't think they could increase the number for this trip. The $50 is a small part of the cost, anyway. It's just the out-of-pocket for the students.
 
Note: sponsoring a hot Buff chick does not automatically qualify you for sexual favors (but it could help.)
 
so if everyone would quit being a pack of pussies and donate $50 maybe we scrape enough together to help them get a 3rd bus. Maybe the AD says they can't get them a bus but $50 buys tickets for 2 other students have to find their own way there. Maybe Bohn spends my $50 on hookers and a baggie of crack. But at the end of the day the AD knows the fans are out here encouraging the good work he is doing and wanting him to do more.

Edit: and yes, I would proudly send 'tini. He's a spastic little **** but he's a loyal Buff. I'd take 100 of him over 1 more UNLV fan in that stadium any day of the week...just not in my car.

My point is we know they will have no trouble getting 100 on those buses so lets figure out how to get the next 100 there.
 
Hopefully one of these donations filters down to the only AB member going :lol:. But seriously you guys are awesome.

You are misstating what I said. I would be all for sponsoring any student to go to the game, or future tourney games, at actual cost. I just don't think it is necessary when the price is $50.

If every buff alumni able to could donate $50 to the program, we would not have any problems with fundraising ever. Honestly this type of support could be the grassroots uprising that brings us back in all athletics. This support will not just end with basketball it is going to carry over everywhere. Buff Fans our time is coming! Thank you Mike, Tad, John, Linda, and all the other coaches and trainers and athletic department admins, You are bringing it back to buffnation and we have all been long overdue.
 
I'm not much of a Basketball fan but who could deny what TAD is doing is aything but great for this school and Mike Bohn stepping up and helping the students support this team. I also sent in a pledge to donate the 50 bucks to send a student. Got an email back saying they would be in touch. GO BUFF!!!!
 
Just got a response:

"Terrific, thank you for the support on all fronts. We are most appreciative of your involvement. We will be in touch to assist in the efforts to send students to the tournament. MB"

For those who are opposed to the idea of covering the $50 - I appreciate the feeling - but remember that not *all* students are trust fund kids driving tricked out SUVs. Hopefully the AD can use the donations to make sure that none of the 100 are turned away and as possible to up the number of students that can go.
If anyone else decides to donate after reading mentioning that you saw the discussion on AllBuffs couldn't hurt. Not that they don't already know about the allsomeness - but reminders never hurt.
