Why am I not surprised at this thread? Nobody has more defensive and paranoid fans than CU. If you don't speak positively about CU (athletic programs included), even if it's blatantly false, most CU fans seriously think you are out to get the program - Henderson is just one example of many that CU fans hate for these reasons,
Well, let's say--and this is just hypothetical mind you--that mid-winter, during a key period of recruiting, CU gained a verbal from a key recruit that was wavering between Colorado and Oregon. And as long as we're indulging this paranoid fantasy, let's also just say that right at that key moment, John Henderson writes an article blasting the Colorado Football program.
This article focuses on a few bad apples from over the years and broadbrushes the lockerroom as a cesspool of thugs and lowlifes. Mind you, no new information was incorporated. It wasn't "news" per se, but just a seemingly random, unprompted blast that happened to appear late in the recruiting cycle.
And then let's say, that young player switches his verbal to Oregon just days later, and his grandmother is cited as saying she's concerned about the quality of the Colorado football culture. Oh wait...that's not hypothetical at all. That actually happened.
Is that paranoid? Or is that just a good ****ing reason to never plug that hack around these parts. Really, how bad are things at the DP that they can't afford to put a quality journalist on the CU (Flagship University of the system) beat? What insightful article as Henderson written about CU? What news has he ever broken (hahahaahahahaahahaha)? I'll just focus on his shortcomings as a journalist now, and won't even bother with his creepy perv tweet. Let's just say that we have random fans on this site that actually dig up relevant information on the team. This information they have unearthed through credible relationships with players and those within the AD. They're not even paid to do it. Yet Henderson can't even be bothered.
Let's play a game. Let's pick a random participant on Allbuffs, and pit him/her against John Henderson in some sort of trivia game that focuses on contemporary elements of Colorado athletics. I'll place my bets before the random participant is even selected. But thanks for offering to tell me stuff. Hahahaahahahahahaahaha. John Henderson is going to discuss CU athletics, and we're all invited. Hahahahahaahahahahahaha! That's fantastic!
Christ, I miss the Rocky Mountain News.
P.S. Buffs 223. We don't need a lot of sunshine. If you read this board you'd understand that we're well aware of the state of the program. What a journalist should do is find something insightful, and maybe not write through a dark lens
every time. But I'll be honest, it's too late for Hendo around these parts. He waddled across the wrong side of the redemption line quite some time ago.
Also, how many socks do you have on Allbuffs now anyway, Mr. Reilly?
