Steve Fisher retires from SDSU

I was starting to think he would coach forever. Gonna be very interesting to see if the Aztec program has staying power or if it was all Fisher.

Also, I think this could be very good for CU and the Pac-12. SDSU was recruiting with the Pac-12 under Fisher and it's hard to see that continuing. The only non-P5 programs in the west that should still challenge that dominance in hoops recruiting are UNLV (if it gets its act together) and Gonzaga.

I worked at the (then Clarion) Harvest House in 1991 when Michigan came to town to play the Buffs in the NIT. I set up a lunch buffet for the team the day of the game. I remember telling my friends later that I thought Steve Fisher was a dick, but I can't for the life of remember why. That is my story. How'd you like it?

I delivered a pizza to Kirk Heinrik at the old Ramada Inn on the Frontage Road. I had to walk by a bunch of Kansas fans who were sitting around the indoor pool to get to his room. They smugly asked if I had seen the game and I told them I had listened to it on the radio and that I hoped they had a nice drive home to Kansas.

I don't think they have staying power without him, but I also have Torero tinted glasses.

I wonder with this news, if there is any chance to get Kell or Hemsley as a transfer. Figure it's a longshot, but Hemsley in particular liked CU to some extent.
