It sounds to me like they're putting a lot of eggs into the Polynesian basket. Three assistants with Poly ties? You gotta figure that they'll get some, but certainly not all of the best talent from the islands. After that, what are they doing? I'll take our approach.

Can I third this? No one out-recruits Cabral in Hawaii. I think this past recruiting cycle made that clear. I loved Embree's story about Cabral and flipping Tuumalo. I think that says everything that needs to be said about our staff's island recruiting skills.

Sounds like they will put a big focus on recruiting Polynesian players, but Akina can recruit/coach with the best of them. Not entirely sure about the other guys, but Akina has contacts all over Texas from his long tenure there. He will help them reel in players from all over and was a really good hire for them..
 
What a dumbass. According to Rivals, AZ didn't even pull in a single top 10 Hawaiin player. Colorado reels in 3 with 2 weeks of recruiting time. Yeah I think we know who "owns" the islands.
