Student Section Behind the Visitors Bench

Why do we not do this?

Used to. The move of the student section behind the basket happened a few years ago. It's been a big success. Distracts the other team's offense in the 2nd half, gets the students together in their own area, and has really improved things. I think it was a great change.

The student section comes down pretty close to the bench. I hear a few insults now and again.

i think it has to stop at the edge...at metro(i know) we tried to set up the student section behind the opposing teams bench and the AD for compliance came over and told us we had to move to another section because it was deemed "illegal" by the ncaa

Looks like the student section at OSU spans the length of the court behind both benches.

I agree. Students should not be relegated to the cheap seats. They are the heart and soul of the crowd and should be treated as such.

edit: the basketball band used to be where the students were and the students wrapped around the southwest side.
