I can't wait to see what the atmosphere is like on 9/9The students were pretty damn good last season. Next year is going to be unreal.
If this program takes off like I expect, they are going to relegate the students to the endzone sections and probably up to the upper level. This is the first step in them taking away 117 to sell at premium prices. Just watch.
Maybe. The demand for regular, pricier season tickets for those sections are going to be greater and more lucrative. I don't see them taking those away to add more student sections in the upper level at the price of $150 or whatever the students pay these days for a sports pass.If this program takes off like I expect, they are going to relegate the students to the endzone sections and probably up to the upper level.
Sections 110-113 and 206-212 would be a great sight directly above the ramp.Maybe. The demand for regular, pricier season tickets for those sections are going to be greater and more lucrative. If they wanted to give back 114-116 to regular season tickets and add 206-212 as student sections, I'd be down for that and it would make sense. Thought maybe you were saying just keeping the lower student sections the same and adding the upper bowl as wellSections 110-113 and 206-212 would be a great sight directly above the ramp.
Oh no, they are going to consolidate students and "cheapen" the seatsIf they wanted to give back 114-116 to regular season tickets and add 206-212 as student sections, I'd be down for that and it would make sense. They gotta pay that man somehow... Until they demo balch and add some more seats to the west side their options are limitedI would be shocked if they considered moving the student section. Folsom field is going to be a massive party scene if Coach Prime gets this rolling the way we think he will. That party will be part of the appeal. Moving the SS would neuter that
I have a feeling our nonstudents are going to be a bit rowdier than we've seen recently. The Primetime era is gonna reenergize us... Here comes the assholes.I would be shocked if they considered moving the student section. Folsom field is going to be a massive party scene if Coach Prime gets this rolling the way we think he will. If we are selling out the stadium consistently, that should be good enough. We can then raise prices even further, and that will be even better. Opening up the Student Section to regular paying fans doesn't really move the needle in this equation IMHO, and might actually hurt it.They gotta pay that man somehow... Until they demo balch and add some more seats to the west side their options are limited
LOL. Obviously it is easy math. My point is that Economics shouldn't be the only driver in making a decision like this. I am simply making the point that it seems unnecessary economically, and (IMO) would be a poor choice because it would negatively impact the game day experience. There are numerous stories of NFL and CFB teams reconfiguring seats and pricing structure, in their effort to chase the dollar....and it almost always having a negative impact on the game day experience. This man has no grip on modern day economics!
From watching videos on YouTube it seems like back in the 90s the students also had the 200 level sections in the end zone but not the sections closer to the 50 that they have now.In a way..having the students in the end zone (to the 20 yardline or so on the east side) from top to bottom could be more helpful to home field advantage then spreading them out on the lower sections to midfield or wherever it ends now.
At the least, move them so they don't control the noise level in one of our end zones. That's always bothered me.Move opposing fans to 203-205. Don't even let them look at the flatirons.
The school should do analysis and knowledge/loyalty testing for anyone with tickets on the West Side. Player names, football rules, percentage of games actually attended, etc. Anyone getting lower than an 85% on the established metric should have to forfeit their seats. Bunch of silent, apathetic bums.Get rid of all those corpses who show up with no emotion or sell their tickets to opposing fans on the west side
I sit on the East side and have had the same seats for 30+ years. I’d probably fail any test that asked me about player names. I’ve been trying to remain blissfully ignorant and shed any possible emotional attachments to this team for the last few years. The school should do analysis and knowledge/loyalty testing for anyone with tickets on the West Side. Yes, that's how I remember it as a student (from 88-92).From watching videos on YouTube it seems like back in the 90s the students also had the 200 level sections in the end zone but not the sections closer to the 50 that they have now.
What a savvy program would do is spread the opposing allotment out across the stadium. 15 seats total in every other section, mostly in the upper East sections. Just completely eliminate any noise impactAt the least, move them so they don't control the noise level in one of our end zones. That's always bothered me.
upper deck, corner is what I'm used to at almost every college stadium I've visitedWhat a savvy program would do is spread the opposing allotment out across the stadium. 15 seats total in every other section, mostly in the upper East sections. Just completely eliminate any noise impact
I’ve been at games at NU, OU, Orange Bowl, Stanford, ASU and several others. Always in the lower bowl. Yes, there are seats in the upper levels for visiting fans, but there’s almost always seating in the lower level as well.upper deck, corner is what I'm used to at almost every college stadium I've visited
you're right for recruits and friends and family of players and other VIPs. what I'm most accustomed to is a shape like this.I’ve been at games at NU, OU, Orange Bowl, Stanford, ASU and several others. Always in the lower bowl. Yes, there are seats in the upper levels for visiting fans, but there’s almost always seating in the lower level as well.
I’d be OK with giving visiting fans sec 109, 203 and 204, but we need to enclose the NW side of the stadium first and make it symmetrical with the NE side.
