Student tickets for KU game

What? They're making you go to the women's game to go to the KU game? That's stupid.

Why? My roommate was complaining about the same thing. There's way too much demand for student bball tickets and not nearly enough seating. Other good bball schools have the same issue.

So have people line up. Forcing people to go to an event they have no interest in is stupid, imo.

The women deserve support to, and this is a move to get some support for them. You had to go to the women's games last year to go to Vegas/wherever our tournament game was played.

The student section has not been full yet for Mens' games - how bout priority off attendance for all the home games to that point - similar to what they did for LA and NM in years past?

I'm guessing lots of fans are, you think people will be doing their homework at this game?

Small sample size, just three games. It's also not exactly fair to do that since they didn't announce that in advance. For this, they have.

You mean when sports teams make you buy tickets in bundles to games you don't care, they are being "stupid." Suppply/demand!

I'm really disappointed in the students so far this year.

There is absolutely no excuse for not supporting our basketball program.

I'll admit that the student attendance has been less than I thought it would be at this point, despite it being the week before break which is usually pretty ****ty. I had to tell my neighbors and roommates that we had a game tomorrow (this was last night) :wtf:?

Yep. It seems kinda pathetic to be trumpeting about one of the best student sections in the country and then seeing a 1/2 - 3/4 full quiet student section on TV.

Even the announcers said it seemed dead...

I think having so many home games against not very good opponents has dampened things for students early on. Mix in with the weird start times. Should be better though.

How about instead of forcing people to line up outside in potentially inclement weather and run a process that pretty much benefits no one, they channel that demand to get a few more people to the women's game, introduce more fans to them and maybe get an emotional lift that results in a win like V-ball did before Buffs-madness last year.

Naaah - just have them bundle up and sit outside, you are right your plan is better.

Good point.

Women need our support on Wednesday. This is the big game of the non-conference. At #5 Louisville is more of an upset prayer. Iowa is the game that would establish whether this is a Top 25 team this season.

It's an okay idea but a lot of my friends have an actual calc exam that night at 8. So now they cant get Kansas tickets? That's a load of ****

There's always "weird" start times. Is 7 a weird a time? The only out of the ordinary one was 10 AM, that was an anomaly but for good reason. The first game wasn't weird starting time, just went up against the Broncos game. You could make excuses for practically every game if you want to.

That sucks, I'd say if I were them, I'd go to someone in the AD and explain the situation. Will they make an exception, probably not, but what do you have to lose?

I'm glad we're complaining about this stuff. No sarcasm. I remember the OOC games getting maybe a few hundred students.

I think that if they made that type of effort while being able to demonstrate a previous attendance record at games, that they would be exempted.

Good idea. I will be there and I have an exam the next day, so honestly I will probably be reading a textbook in the corner somewhere since we probably don't have to sit in the student section. And I am very disappointed with our student section. The week before Thanksgiving isn't exactly a great week for games plus a 10 am start and a game against another no name team during the Broncos doesn't help. Most people didn't even know if there was a game tonight. I get so many dumb emails from CU, they should send out an email of a reminder for every basketball game.

Yeah possibly, just wouldn't get my hopes up. I'd also say I'll get to the arena right after the exam(assuming there's enough time).

I'd also say if possible (not knowing the situation too much about the situation), possibly ask the professor if you could take the exam at another time. Some professors are more flexible than others, they teacher multiple classes of the same subject so there could be an alternative.

When I was at CU, I think the vast majority didn't even know when CU played unless they were reminded. I'd just have a print-out of all the home games taped to your desk or something. Once conference play begins it will be a lot easier since they are mostly Thur/Sat or Sun.

Good ideas. I know when all the games are, but that's because I was raised that way and live and breathe this stuff (hence being on here). It is most students who are more casual that probably need a reminder.

This is the weirdest thing to me after all the excitement from students since March

Color me concerned for a Sunday game against Harvard in front of a dead crowd. That's the type of game this team will need to feed off some energy.
