This is one of the more ridiculous things I've heard.

"I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and teenage years working and sweating, while we were all at home in the air conditioning," District Attorney Jerry Jones told KNOE News."

I didn't have any air conditioning in any of the places I lived during college. Why hasn't someone cut me some breaks?

Oh, and do we think Alabama's student court will be suspending them from the program indefinitely? Or will Nick Saban do anything? There is no such thing as a level playing field in college athletics.

Only if those students want to get lynch mobed while crossing campus...
 
Based on these comments from the defense attorney, the dismissal sounds completely reasonable while law enforcement sounds like it over-stepped and the DA was trying to save face with his bungling statement to the media.
