The Director's Cup standings were finalized after the completion of the College World Series earlier this week, and Texas A&M was the top representative from the Big 12, finishing sixth nationally.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup is a national system that incorporates the top 10 women's and men's sports teams from each university and distributes points based on their finishes. You may have last heard the term "Director's Cup standings" thrown around during all the expansion hubbub from people bragging about their schools.

Stanford took first place for the 16th consecutive year, but four Big 12 schools made the top 20.

Here's how the Big 12 stacked up:

6. Texas A&M -- 1070.75
12. Oklahoma -- 921.25
15. Texas -- 858.25
17. Nebraska -- 830.75
31. Baylor -- 633.00
33. Oklahoma State -- 618.75
34. Iowa State -- 618.50
44. Texas Tech -- 551.25
49. Missouri -- 454.00
69. Colorado -- 282.00
73. Kansas -- 236.50
123. Kansas State -- 134.00

given the conference realignment affairs, hard not to see how attractive the Kansas schools were. KU was a #1 seed and KSU made the Elite Eight and they still anchor as bottom feeders. 123? Still a little confused by Texas Tech's player status in all this. but, i guess you could make the same argument for CU....though we do have that TV market and academics thing working for us....Tech?

CU always struggles in this "competition" because we lack a lot of varsity sports.

Men's and women's T&F each winning a NC for A&M. Two trophies will do that for your school's ranking.

Did CU ever sweep cross country in a year like that?
