Thorburn had a great article on the C-Unit celebration last night for the "OG 50". It's seriously a great read, and I can't recommend it enough.

On a personal note, I know we have some C-Unit members who post on this board, and some that lurk, and I just want to thank all of you. As someone who was there during the years in which my buddy and I consisted of 5% of the entire student section, it's absolutely incredible to see what you guys have done. The guys who started this put in lots of hard work and deserve all the praise they get and then some. CU has a (bogus) reputation around the nation for having horrible fans, and in one two week span, you guys completely changed how we're perceived. We're still assholes, and we still throw pissbombs and marshmallow filled nails, but now we're lovable assholes. So thank you.

Is it November yet?

Great article. Loved those kids. Even though they really let us down as far as our reputation for being assholes.

I think they were subtle about it. They made sure to push down UNLV grandmothers when no one was watching. I salute our Navy SEAL-esque C-Unit.

Couldn't be prouder of the C-Unit. They have helped turn around the entire perception of CU basketball. I honestly didn't think it could happen, but it has. Amazing. They've added something to the experience of being a CU student. Not many people can say that.

the best thing i saw in that article was bohn offering them home tix for life... thats just awesome.. bohn has seriously stepped up his game as of late

Bohn said he wasn't worried after meeting with the students, who had a collective grade-point average of nearly 3.9, prior to the trip.

WTF?

Since when does CU give more than 4.0 grades? I mean, that is insane EVEN WITH the opportunity to get a grade higher than 4.0.

There was a point in the UNLV game, I think it was when Brown hit the 3 ball to put to Buffs up by 20. Rebs called timeout and CBS showed the drummer for the band going nuts, and then showed the C-Unit behind him doing the same. I was at the Rock Bottom on 144th and I-25 with a couple friends, and just about lost it right there in the bar. My friends had to tell me to calm down. That was such a cool moment that wouldn't have been quite as good if not for all the students and other CU fans that were at the game. Seriously, hat's off to them.

I love that we're gaining a rep for one of the top home courts and fan bases in the West. C-Unit rocks. It all starts there.

****, then I had a 8.0. Mark it 8, Dude.

I actually think it was AD that hit that 3. Ive been saying that that moment even with a smaller crowd was louder than any moment Ive ever heard in the Keg, it was absolutely crazy.

I didn't get to the UNLV game, but there was a point in the Bailer game where we went up by 4 points with about 10 minutes to go. That moment is the loudest I've ever experienced. Ear splitting.

At about the 18:00 minute mark in the second half of each of those games is when the non-CU and non-CU opponent fans began to collectively cheer against us and for the other team. C-Unit may not have been obvious assholes, but everyone ended up hating us through jealousy of our obnoxiously awesome ways.

Also, our group was sitting in front of the student section and look young enough to be mistaken for students and we were complete assholes, so we did not fail in that regard.

The CUnit is pretty disconnected from the football game but slider opened a post on the Facebook page with ideas for football season. Any suggestions are welcome.

Doesn't seem to be gaining too much traction. Bohn didn't seem very receptive either

Give it some time. I'm not sure why we would just keep it to football though as that one guy suggested. I'll send Bohn and another guy whose high up an email if we can get some ideas goin.

Ya I thought that was dumb. Creating a different "student section" name/group solely for football doesn't make sense. :sigh: Either way this doesn't have to be incorporated with C-Unit. I just figured it would be the best way to go due to the success with basketball

Basketball and football are two different animals. A group of 50+ can make a huge impact on the student section environment in bball, but in football, they wouldn't be heard or noticed by 95% of the student section.

If we have to rename it we will. Its not like the name is that cool anyway.

I agree. But it was more of an idea to connect the students to the football team. Also to create something teh whole student section can do. For example we could easily coordinate something for the Ralphie run. As of right now it's everyone jumping up and randomly yelling "Ralphie, Ralphie." We can do sooooo much better
