Here's what to expect when this week. (all times ET)
No. 17 Oklahoma State at Kansas State (Fox Sports Net, noon): Justin Blackmon's early-week incident will grab plenty of headlines through the week, but there's still a game to be played. Kansas State has struggled with the speed of Baylor and Nebraska, but the defense will try to rebound and defend its home field against the Cowboys, who like the Wildcats, lost at home to Nebraska.
Kansas at Iowa State (2 p.m.): The Cyclones are riding high after the upset of Texas, and have to take advantage of this one and a later game against Colorado to reach a sixth win and bowl eligiblity. Once again, Kansas would just like to be competitive. The Jayhawks have lost by at least five touchdowns in each of their three conference games.
No. 6 Missouri at No. 14 Nebraska (ABC, 3:30 p.m.): Missouri coach Gary Pinkel has reiterated that the more you win, the bigger the games get. He's right this week. The winner takes a firm grasp of the North division, but as the last undefeated Big 12 team, and one of just seven remaining in all of the FBS, Missouri can pick up some national title buzz with a win. Nebraska once went 25 years between losses to Missouri. The rivalry ends on Saturday since Nebraska leaves for the Big Ten after the season.
Texas Tech at Texas A&M (3:30 p.m.): Both teams have underwhelmed this year, but Texas A&M needs a win in this one. Lose, and a bowl game becomes anything but a sure thing. The road team has won each of the last two contests in the rivalry.
No. 25 Baylor at Texas (Fox Sports Net, 7 p.m.): Baylor's the ranked team in this one, but Texas enters as seven-point favorites. Baylor's offense is on a record pace after racking up almost 700 yards of offense last week, and Texas doesn't have the personnel to keep up with that. Defense must play well to avoid a third loss in Austin this season.
Colorado at No. 9 Oklahoma (ESPN2, 9:15 p.m.): Three consecutive losses is a bad recipe for cooling a piping-hot seat underneath coach Dan Hawkins. Playing an angry Oklahoma team in a stadium that hasn't seen a Sooners loss in 34 games over the last five years is an even harder way to end that streak. The Sooners' national championship hopes are almost nil, but they'll try to keep them alive this week. One item of note: Colorado beat the then-No. 3 Sooners on a last-second field goal the last time the two played, a 2007 game in Boulder when Sam Bradford was a redshirt freshman.
