a healthy conference attracts top tier coaching talent.

we're going to be going against some big names in the next few seasons. these coaches are coming to the pac, in part, because of the tv deal. the schools have the money to pay these guys and the coaches want to work in high profile gigs.

this is all good.

some of you appear to be worried that our current staff will be more challenged. i would say it is far too soon to reach that conclusion. plus, even if it turns out to be true, CU will, in turn, be able to draw a big name coach in the next go-round as well.

look at how good the sec is, top to bottom (well, mostly, top to bottom).

the p12 can be deep too. big time coaches. big time games. national attention.

personally, i'm stoked. it is going to be fun. in 5 years, i predict the p12 will be universally regarded as the best conference in college football. yes, i'm talking to you, sec. you're going down.

:woot:

liver is absolutely right. This is just the beginning. However, I don't think the Pac 12 will ever have the kind of fanatical passionate devotion from it's fans that the SEC enjoys.

Uhh...did you miss RichRod to UA and Pirate to Wazzou? Just checking. ASU and UCLA are going to find and pay even bigger names now.

last time i checked richrod was run out of ann arbor for losing and leach was radioactive. not like they are hiring Bob Stoops and Mack Brown.

lotta baggage with Richrod and Leach. Conf-USA hiring more like. richrod was ready to take the Tulane job.

now you are just being ornery. both leach and richrod are pedigreed. saying you need a stoops or brown to move for it to be big is overstating it.

take a look at hires in the sec and b10.

And anyone that takes Tressel or, for that matter, tOSU taking Meyer. I typically agree with you, Mick, but I think you are wrong here.

leach and rr are damaged goods. if i'm a university prez, both those guys are a tough PR sell. imo.

when a guy is dumped from a BCS conference team for not winning or a lawsuit only to pick up a check in another...it's not a lateral move.

I agree with you although both have had success. It is funny or ironic that both of them are "system" guys on the offensive end of things. They win with their system...I always think those guys have a ceiling.

What's the alternative to a system guy? Why a ceiling?
