The defense in Charleston

The defense in Charleston was incredible, the Buffs play good straight up D. They were contesting every shot, denying penetration into the lane and forcing bad shots late into the shot clock. If this team can continue to do that in conference play they are going to be tough to beat (no matter how the offense plays). They held Dayton and Baylor under .9 points per possession which is phenomenal, CU only did this a hand full of times last year (and that was against teams like USC, ASU and Utah).

I think a special shout out goes to Dinwiddie, he guarded 3 solid PG's (2 elite) in 4 days and did a tremendous job on them. Yes Canaan got 21 yesterday, but a couple of those 3's he made were from deep and Dinwiddie had his hand in his face on each one, those are makes that you live with. He held Dillard and Jackson both in the low 30's% in eFG% while forcing them to turn it over about 1 out of every 4 times down the floor.

Tad can coach.

He knows what he wants to do and he is able to get his players not only to do it but to buy in and believe in it. He has recruited some very good players but he has also consistenty made the players he has better. He gets the most out of each guys talent without asking them to do things that they can't do.

Winning a tourney like this one against solid competition far from home is another one of those points in the history of a program where you can mark another significant step forward, with Tad at the helm I have no question that it won't be close to the last significant step but it is an important one.

I think it's part of a grand plan. Kill the football program so that fans like me have to find an outlet for our Buffs passion. That bolsters the basketball program. Then bring the football program back to life.

At least that's what I'm hoping. While I would hate to think they'd purposely kill the football program, it gives me a little hope that this is actually all part of a masterfully orchestrated plan.

Yeah to of those points came off of that layup with 4 seconds to go. That shot was just a stat padding make. That actually pissed me off as a buffs fan and it would have pissed me off as a Murray State fan. A three there makes some sense but a layup makes no sense what-so-ever.

The grand plan is Tad and company win the NCAA tourney this year or next, he retires from hoops and coach pri or rohn takes over and Tad takes over for Embree....in a nutshell....
