I want to get this out of the way.

The Good

Not much good but a couple of things. Powell was a beast running the ball, he just ran angry. Richardson continues to show why he will play on Sundays in the future, he full speed change of direction on the long TD Was a thing of beauty. Sefo's toughness was good but he definitely had some learning moments overall.

The Bad

There was so much bad - the defense was just bad all game. No pressure on the opposing QB continues as a modus operandi...was losing all that weight on the Dline suppose to show some results. The offense is really imaginative and does not move in the scoring range without Richardson. Seems like we end up with our scores on long strikes from Prich - without that we end up with Zip.

The Ugly

It looked to me like the team packed it in late in the game. We could not even stop their second string from scoring. Very sad. Giving up over 600 yards for the 3rd time (IIRC) this year was ugly.

Really Ugly

Rick Neuheisel running his mouth about Colorado in the postgame show. Putting down CU to justify his classless departure from the program. Rick should keep his mouth shut.

I did not hang around to listen to Slick for the post game. But he was relatively positive about CU at halftime.

I thought Rick was right on. He said what he said when he bolted to Colorado....build top notch facilities and CO will recruit like mad. They have an amazing college town and scenery, but recruits come in and see crap facilities, then go anywhere else and see amazing football facilities, and they know who is serious about fielding a winner. (Paraphrased). Can't say he is wrong. MM can do a lot of catching up quickly with a viable plan, facility plans that show recruits what they will be working out in in a few short years.

Skippy was a ****ty coach here who blew an amazing collection of talent his first 3 years here, left our program at probably 75% of what it was when he took over, and left in a bitchass way.

That said, he was spot on then and now about our perceived commitment to winning.

I did not say that. I said I was not buying season tickets next year. I am done with that part of it. I am moving from dedicated, passionate fan, to casual fan. It looks like I will not be alone.

Next year is when we will see the full impact of the train wreck that was the Embree years. This year we still had a lot of season ticket bought because they were included in the business budget or had been committed to earller in the process. Even then we are seeing lots of empty seats that have always been occupied by people who aren't coming to games.

Unless we start to win more games and make the home losses at least more competitive we could easily be playing in front of 25,000+ empty seats next season. If the revenue implications of that don't get the attention of the administration then they are more incompetent than even we have given them credit for. That translates into huge amounts of money lost.

Thanks for notifying us.

Anyways last year maybe 500 CU fans actually saw a W in person. This year the number is probably around 70k or so, which helps

He isn't wrong and he mapped out exactly what Colorado needs to be successful. It's just a shame that 15 years later NOTHING has been done. It should be no surprise to anyone why or how we are in the current situation we find ourselves.

Yep.

agree - the real thing with 17 year old kids is, looking at an artist rendition of what our facilities can look like, will mean nothing... They want to come in to facilities and progress. They are smart enough to know they will be graduated by the time the facilities are finished. Kids want to be part of a winning program. instant success. These coaches have a hard sell on their hands.

This is going to be a long progress just like we thought from the beginning. Every beat down adds to this length of time. We should be up to about 5 years now. IMO... My junior in high school ( and about $85,000 out of my pocket) should be graduating or going into grad school by the time we see some success and facilities at CU.

Major facilities upgrades do take time in addition to money but even if the kids won't be using them they see them as a sign that a program is serious about moving forward.

On the other hand there are upgrades that can be made much faster that do make an impression. Upgrade and expand the weight room and locker room facilities, install new floor, lighting, etc in team meeting rooms. If you can't have everything first class right away at least have some things to show off.

Kids are funny in that sometimes they are looking for an excuse to act on an emotional decision. Do what you can to give it to them now as you are building for the future to impact even more emotional decisions.

So... Polish a turd.

So... Polish a turd.

This doesn't mean that we don't need to make significant, large scale facility upgrades to be competitive. All it means is that kids need to see something other than artist drawings on an old wall.

Dirt needs to be moving but we also need something to show them right now.

Most kids are pretty shallow... If we could attach iPads to their lockers and hang a bunch of flashy uniforms around it would make an impact. Doing nothing gets you where we are at right now, 80's uniforms and outdated crap and a bunch of slow small underachievers.

Lesson learned by Buffs at Udub? Don't play games in the rain. Buffs absolutely got hammered against OSU and Udub in the rain. Especially in the second half.

Good: Seattle is an awesome place, and pac 12 locations overall are a zillion times better than big 12 "towns." Fun city, beautiful campus/stadium/scenery, lots to do. I'd go here for vacation despite our team.

Bad: A bit rainy

Ugly: Our team, the game

Adding rain to the list...

Lets see where rain fits in the filing system of CU adversity...at home...on the road...neutral stadiums...morning games...afternoon games...night games...Saturday games...Sunday games....Thursday night games....Thanksgiving Day games...Friday games...bowl games...in the desert...east of the Mississippi River...On the west coast...in the desert....on grass...on sports turf...in a dome...on TV...FCS teams...BCS teams...Out of Conference teams...directional schools...P12 teams...temperatures over 100...freezing cold...ice...snow...flooding...

There we go under weather. Don't play games in the rain is now on the record.
