I don't start too many new threads. Especially when there are so many different threads on a similar topic.
But I'm struck by our reaction as fans to this coaching hire, and what it reveals about us as as a fanbase.
1. We're a bunch of knuckleheads hanging devotedly on this fansite for a decade-and-a-half that overlaps with a period of unprecedented bad football and the absence of hope.
2. Doners apparently stepped up and demanded a splash hire.
3. I was struck during Prime's tour how underutilized our amazing facilities feel in our brand.
4. I was putting down a deposit for season tickets at midnight in December, just hoping that - after my first season without season tickets in nearly a decade - I could get some.
5. As an 0-5 team, we filled up our stadium and rushed the field following our lone victory of the season.
6. Beautiful campus, beautiful town. A place that our Buffs - wherever they roam - want to come back and be.
The facilities are there, the resources are there, the support is there and there's a distant tradition that has been buried in an extended period of futility.
So much energy and excitement is being unearthed. I knew that we were sleeping giants, but I don't think I fully appreciated the size of the giant nor the depth of the coma.
