Go .500 on the road and win em all at home and you have a good shot to win the conference.

Contrary to popular belief, since our bad start we haven't been that bad on the road, splitting each series after Cal and Stanford.

This has put us into a position to actually finish above .500 (5-4) with a win over Utah and a sweep in Oregon.

Do that, stay true at home, get one loss from UW and we will prove the old saying right and WIN the conference.

LETS GO BUFFS, dig deep and finish this season with something special!
 
Winning in Oregon won't be easy, but it's doable.

Essentially our best shot for the tourney right now is to win against Utah, Stanford, and Cal then take 1 out of 2 in Oregon. Then cap it off with a few tourney wins. If we do that I'd be surprised if we didn't make the tournament. But that's not going to be easy at all, we're going to have to play our asses off the next few weeks.

I think this scenario is very unlikely to happen. The team is just too inconsistent; they're lacking leadership on the floor or an identity, or more likely both. Love the Buffs, but our (consistent) inconsistency makes winning on the road against good teams almost impossible.
 
I'd feel better of Brown was playing better. We need him to step up and hit some shots in Eugene. We ought to win at Utah and OSU.
 
We will need all of the pieces to finally come together at one time to beat Oregon. Brown needs to show, we need good Nate, Default has to continue to get better, the Freshman (the Mayor and Askia) need to have very good games, and we need Andre to stay out of foul trouble and hit his free throws. I am not worried as much about our D but we really need to play the full 40 minutes and not get down when we give up a run.
 
I think it will be better if we beat Cal at home than Zona on the road, not in terms of RPI, but we already saw last year that if you beat the same team multiple times, it doesn't help too much.

Cal is the only Pac-12 team in the "others receiving votes" category for AP and ESPN/USA Today. They're also a Top 40 RPI team. Beating them would put the first high quality win on our resume. It's a must win if we want to be considered for the Dance as a bubble team.

I think you are as disappointed as I am that Stanford is below 100 in RPI. I was hoping they were going to be another quality win for us.

It's not so bad.

What we really need is a Top 50 win and another Top 100 win (Oregon on the road would be huge).

Given the way the CU Team Sheet looks, I'm having trouble seeing us in the NCAA Tourney as an at-large without us winning our last 5 games.

Other than winning the PAC-12 tourney, I don't see any way we go dancing.
 
absolutely agree Buffnik, I think we are a long shot at best for the tourney. We just gotta win the PAC:12 tourney I guess. Our biggest problem is that too many teams look just like us but have one signature win or two.
 
I also just noticed that they list our UCLA loss as a neutral site game. I double-checked to see if that was an error on our sheet, but it's not. That's how the RPI is counting all the UCLA home games this year. Cal's win at UCLA counted as a Neutral. Bull****.

:nod: Yup. Would think winning 4 of 5 and just making it to the tourney finals would be enough. This is assuming the PAC gets 3 teams in.

Interesting. So fucla gets additional rpi bumps because their home games are actually "neutral site" games. And any opponent who wins in LA doesn't get the benefit of a "road" win, because it's counted as a "neutral site". Sound about right?
