School record

Second time ever they´ve won 20 games before conference or postseason tourneys. Did it in 1997, where they beat Indiana as a #9 seed before they were knocked off by #1 UNC

Way to go CU basketball. It is fun to watch this team grow and awesome to witness history.

Ah, I thought this was the first 20 win regular season.

And, while not official, tonight all but locks up our first back to back NCAA Tournaments since '62/'63
And next year's team looks like it'll be by far the most talented team of the Boyle era. I still can't believe how quickly Tad has built a big-time program.

Tad is a great coach and recruiter. Whether it was an accident or not, the AD hit a home run with him.

I give Bzdelik credit for putting the foundation in place. Not sure how successful Tad would've been had he took over for Patton. Regardless, he deserves credit for having the team in the position they are in.

I'm not at all, it's really fun watching the program grow.

The point isn't embarrassed about the program now. Obviously I'm not. The point is we were REALLY bad for 30-40 years of Big8/BigXII ball. There's some catching up to do, thankfully we're on that path in a big way

How come noone has driven a dumptruck full of money to Tad Boyle's house yet? He should have been made the highest paid coach in the Pac 12 by now

Well placed good cred for both Bz an Tad .. rep

He's getting a lot of incentivized bonuses, so he's definitely up there when all is said and done.

Relax, remember he is most likely going to finish 5th in the conference. While, he deserves a raise, how about he wins the conference a few times before he is the highest paid.

In Tad I trust.

Congratulations to this team.

Saturday is an opportunity to pass Chauncey's 1996-97 team for the most regular season wins in school history.

Isn't Bohn wanting someone else revisionist history. I believe a majority of fans wanting McClain or Dunlap and being upset that Bohn 'settled' for Boyle, who he had known since their Kansas days

It was a complete accident (AD was set on someone else), but we were due for something good to happen.
Sometimes, you benefit from a little luck. I probably would've gone with McClain myself and possibly Dunlap ahead of Tad, but happy to be wrong here. Who did Bohn want to hire?

Dunlap, iirc. He's a heck of a coach and probably would have done well. But he wouldn't have stayed more than 3 or 4 years, imho.

That would've been a good problem to have at the time. I don't think we were in such position to be picking-and-choosing since we don't exactly make the postseason every year let along the Tourney.

One advantage about Boyle at the time was that the only program he was likely leaving CU for would've been KU. It's not like there's lot of basketball coaches, who consider CU to be destination job. Heck, I thought Bzdelik given his ties to the state was going to be here longer.

Revisionist history on a sports message board... no way:rofl:
