Fresno State: 20-38 L
@ Oregon State: 17-28 L
Oregon: 14-48 L
@ Arizona State: 21-38 L
Arizona: 34-38 L
@ UCLA: 20-41 L
@ Washington: 21-31 L
Cal: 38-45 L
USC: 21-27 L
@ Utah: 31-24 W

Offense
Most surprising player: Daniel Munyer
Most disappointing player: Tony Jones
Bold prediction: Donta Abron rushes for 600 yards

Defense
Most surprising player: Jered Bell
Most disappointing player: Brady Daigh
Bold prediction: CUD finishes in the top five in the PAC-12 for sacks

Other
I think some minor staff tweaks are made after the season. Connor has a good, if uneven, 2013 season and enters next year as the clear starter.

I'm predicting 5-7, but I have no idea where those five wins will come from.

1-11. Not sure about the win. Maybe Utah. I like our new staff, but I think our oline will be awful.

2-10 with wins against Central Ark and Cal. Sefo ends up the starter at QB and CUD is the MOP on defense.

Season Record- 2-10

CSU: 17-31 L
CAU: 28-24 W
Fresno St: 24-41 L
@ Oregon St: 27-35 L
Oregon: 20-48 L
@ Arizona St: 27-38 L
Arizona: 31-48 L
@UCLA: 24-35 L
@ Washington: 24-41 L
Cal: 31-26 W
USC: 24-28 L
@Utah: 17-21 L

Offense
Most Surprising Player: D.D. Goodson (~50 receptions)
Most Disappointing Player: Nembot and Powell
Bold Prediction: Powell isn't our leading rusher. Also PRich has 5 TD's of 50 yards or more

Defense
Most Surprising Player: Chidobe Awuzie and Tupou
Most Disappointing Player: Kenneth Crawley (still gets beat and picked on due to Hendo)
Bold Prediction: One of the DB's approaches 5 INT's and CUD is very close to double digit sacks, if not over. Pass-D is much improved but run-D is awful (mostly due to LB's).

Other
I agree the staff gets reassembled this offseason. Adams to TE/ST and we hire an RB coach. Neinas pushed out and LaRussa tag-teams ST's with Adams. Also we finally like our OC for once. I predict a ton of fighting about our staff. Some saying to be patient and others bitching about the SJSU staff. Wood looks ok. OL is awful. Nembot gives up at least 5 sacks. Sefo's RS is burned, and he looks competent giving us hope for the future. Due to the OL we pass the ball significantly more, inflating Wood's stats.

As for the defense, we finally look like we know what we're doing. Defense is better and gives up 10 less pts/game, but we still don't have the horses. Tupou pushes for at least honorable mention Pac-12 and emerges as a future dominant DT. Crawley gets burned but Awuzie is a future star at CB, he also starts at CB over Crawley multiple games.

Coaches close out recruiting with no real notable recruits (zero 4*'s) and maybe one 5.7rr type guy. Lots of bitching here. Record doesn't look good but there's tangible hope for the future. George announces facilities to begin in 2015

You guys are predicting us to at least have competitive games for the most part, which would be a big improvement even though it wasn't translate in the win-loss column.

NO! You can't mean that! Bitching? Here? What would this bunch of punk ass sad sacks be without constant bitching? Awuzie as most surprising? To those who have been asleep or posting over at Nutbuffs( same thing, I know) maybe. Why would staff be re-assembled after one season? Totally unlike HCMM and doesn't lead anywhere. Why pick on RB? Its a posiiton where you have the instincts or not. Powell gained 600+ last year, despite all of 71 carries in HS---compare with 5* Scott who had what? OL is thin, but not terrible. They were put in a terrible position last two years by a coach whose star was fading badly and a sucky pro-style system, which led to confusion, not cohesion. Change of style will work minor miracles. "D" will be running 21st century schemes, as the Seventies got G. Brown back! No more non-coaching for them, either.

I go 6-6, U$C the upset special.

Note: I have changed my mind a few times as the Fall has gone on. I am expecting a few surprise wins or close calls (e.g. USC could go our way). Surprised my Kool-Aid got me to 5 wins when I have been predicting 3-4. Oh well time of year to be optimistic.

Offense
Most surprising player: Abron
Most disappointing player: Slavin
Bold prediction: Ross becomes the #2 receiver although Spruce will play very well too

Defense
Most surprising player: Awuzie
Most disappointing player: Gillam
Bold prediction: Awuzie ends up playing a ton and has at least 3 INTs this year

Assuming he stays healthy I think Connor ends up in the top 6 of the Pac 12. I also think HCMM is in the running for COY honors in Pac 12 for such a quick turnaround despite a losing record (he won't win but will be given major props for Yr 1). I think we will have a full time RB coach going into next season and at least some preseason predictions for 2014 will suggest we get to a bowl game.

Recruiting picks up some-doubtful we get any 4* but at least 2 or 3 high 3* with several BCS offers. I also think we are going to see some major improvements from the AD behind Rick George. Not sure we will get to $50m but major progress on fundraising and also expect an announcement of a major sponsor (probably stadium name). I also think RG's initiatives and HCMM's progress on field will improve attendance.

1-11. Not sure about the win. Maybe Utah. I like our new staff, but I think our oline will be awful.

The OT depth is razor thin. Given that I expect there to be more growing pains with Nembot throughout the season, I'm hoping we beat the odds on injuries along the OL.

As far as shuffling the staff around a bit after year one, not sure why that would be a huge deal. Happens quite frequently at other schools.

I want to say they'll beat Cal at home, but I'll temper the Kool Aid a little bit for now.

3-9

Best shot at a "big" upset - Oregon St
Best chances to turn 2012 losses into 2013 wins - Arizona, Utah

CSU comes down to first game mistakes. CSU's line play decides the game.

Central Arkansas is very close, but if Mac is the right coach he'll find a way to win (Sad that I consider this some type of leap of faith).

Team improves as the season progresses, but @Seattle & @Tempe will be two very tough contests. Cal and USC just out-athlete us.

I'm all into the 3-9, and maybe 4-8 with a huge miracle upset somewhere, but I don't see us beating CSU AND UCA. Just not likely.

Most disappointing player: Powell
Bold prediction: Nembot gets an all PAC-12 honorable mention

Defense
Most surprising player: Reed
Most disappointing player: Webb
Bold prediction: the defense outscores the offense against Oregon St.

Too many questions on this Buff team. Oline, QB, LBs, TEs, to make any meaningful prediction. Beat CSU and I see 3 wins, lose and I see 1 win.

Putting a lot of effort into it I see...

CSU - W 31-21
Central Arkansas - W 38-24
Fresno State - L 27-45
@Oregon State - L 17-31
Oregon - L 17-51
@Arizona State - L 24-42
Arizona - W 42-38
@UCLA - L 24-35
@Washington - L 34-24
California - L 35-38
USC - L 24-27
@Utah - W 24-20

4-8 with the wildcard games being Cal and USC. Both have talent but iffy coaching. Will USC be a train wreck by the time we play them if they start out slow? Can Dykes win with Cal's talent in his first season?

Offense:
Most surprising: Donta Abron
Most disappointing: Tony Jones
Bold Prediction: Abron over takes Pow Pow as the #1 back

Defense:
Most surprising: Awuzie
Most disappointing: Justin Solis
Bold prediction: ****, I have no idea

3-9

CSU: W 35-27
Central Arky: W 28-24
Fresno St: L 24-35
@ Oregon State: L 14-24
Oregon: L 24-55
@ Arizona St: L 21-33
Arizona: L 35-42
@ UCLA: L 27-49
@ Washington: L 21-42
Cal: W 42-35
USC: L 35-17
@ Utah: L 24-27

Offense

Most surprising player: I think Abron provides a nice 1-2 punch with Powell. 500 or so rushing yards for him.
Most disappointing player: Nembot, simply because he's not ready.
Bold Prediction: Wood throws for twice as many TDs as INTs and completes 65% of his passes.

Defense

Most surprising player: Jered Bell becomes a really solid safety for us. 4 picks or so and is a clear upgrade from Polk
Most disappointing player: Parker Orms doesn't make much of an impact as a safety or nickel corner.
Bold Prediction: Defense has moments where it looks decent, but still gives up too many long drives.

Colorado State (Front Range Gulag): 26-24 L
Central Arkansas: 38-30 W
Fresno State: 37-20 L
@ Oregon State: 27-17 L
Oregon: 52-20 L
@ Arizona State: 41-24 L
Arizona: 28-27 W
@ UCLA: 35-17 L
@ Washington: 42-27 L
Cal: 45-41 L
USC: 27-13 L
@ Utah: 23-14 W

3-9. Improvement becomes clear over progression of season.

1-11 with the win coming against UCA. If we get a second win it will be against some free falling Pac 12 team with a lousy defense towards the end of the season.

Offsense improves big-time to 28 points/game.
Most surprising player: DD Goodson.
Most disappointing player: Christian Powell.
Bold Prediction: Connor Wood finishes with a YPA in the top 6 among QB's in the Pac.

Defense improves to 37 points/game. Horrendous run D negates solid pass D.
Most surprising player: John Walker.
Most disappointing player: Derrick Webb.
Bold Prediction: 10+ INT's this season.

Final bold prediction: Buffs play USC into OT, catalyzing a Trojan collapse that leads to Kiffin being canned at the end of the season.

I'll be the one to say it: the quicker Wood proves he can't play the better. He ain't it. Move on to Sefo or Webb ASAP, then wait for Tad's season.

1-11.

If the season is lost, sacrificing Sefo is a horrible idea that should be avoided.

How many QB's have we redshirted in the past 10 years that have flopped 3 years later? We've invested too much in the unproductive years of a QB without ever assessing if the QB can play or not. Dillon, Hirshman, Shrock, Ballenger ... list goes on.
