Time to Stand Shoulder to Shoulder BUFFS FANS and say Thanks!!!

Excellent piece! I have been a season ticket holder and I have stuck with the team through the National Championship season and fun glory years (can anyone say 62-36?) to the recent struggling and rock bottom years. I've sat in Folsom through blowout wins and blow out losses. I'm a proud CU Buff. Like many fans, I see the great progress you mention. Like Mac's turnaround, you mention that it started by believing they could win. We now see that in Mac2's team.

Like you, I more worry we could lose him a few years. I believe we are on the edge of a big big turnaround and comeback. Winning the NC was great and 62-36 was awesome too. But the comeback we are about to experience will be even more fun.

I agree- we thank Rick George, Tad Boyle, Mac2, the players and our real fan base. And as for the hack journalists, I think there is clearly an agenda to attack CU that is always present there.

Your piece is great. You should write more! Would love to see it.

I decided to write something up at the halfway point. Let's put a big Johnny Cash middle finger to Mark He Who Shall Not Be Named and the other clowns and stand behind this team. GO BUFFS![/QUOTE]

We need to stop this loser attitude that we might lose MM when he starts winning.

We aren't ****ing CSU. We're also not a two bit, Johnny come lately, sub par P5 football school. Even after a decade of suck, we've still won more football games than all but 2 other teams in our conference (and we're only 10 behind one of them).

In our entire history we have lost exactly one coach to another school. And let's just say that coach was starting to feel the hot seat and MM might be a lot of things, but he's not a weasel.

We are Colorado! There is nothing you can't win at CU. And you get to do it in a town where the sun shines every day, and your wife can go to the grocery store after a close loss. A place where your kids won't be shunned at school, and you won't receive death threats for a losing season.

What the hell is wrong with you people that you think we could actually lose a winning football coach to another school? Did you all go to CSU or something?

I can't disagree but the second MacIntyre came here all I could see was a southern guy. Just look at his history in football. He isn't Embree or Boyle. CU wasn't his dream job. Hope it ends up becoming that after he has success. We are Colorado but that doesn't mean MacIntyre is. Let's hope it becomes him. He's a damn good man and mentor.

I was strictly arguing the point we are more likely to lose him to his dream job than being fires because we are headed back to winning. Don't poo poo on he point of the whole thing. Success is near. We are certainly Colorado!!!

His son is a Buff despite a lot of moaning on here. And his teammates see no nepotism in that.

I hope Jay is important to us in several ways.

I love Mac, but he's 1-11 in the Pac12...are we seriously afraid of losing him to a better job?? Let's wait until a winning season before we start worrying about that.

This would be a good thing for CU if he turns us around to where other schools want him (recruiting would be a huge turn-off to most schools... including a complete deal breaker for the SEC)

McCartney's football history was Michigan and Mizzou.
Dallas Ward was Minnesota and Oregon State
Eddie Crowder was OU
Sonny Grandelius was Michigan State

The point is that aside from Embree and Barnett all of the other past Colorado coaches were "Midwestern guys," or "Big 10 guys," or something other than "Colorado guys."

Successful coaches don't voluntarily leave Colorado. If a couch is successful at CU, they become a "Colorado guy."

And the south sucks. It really does. What do you think the MacIntyres would want to get back to? WalMart? Corn dogs?

(I do get the scary, worried part; we've sucked for that long. But the team is starting to purge their ****ty thought processes, and it's time for the fan base to start doing the same thing.)

Our facilities will be SEC quality. Nothing is holding us back from being elite.

Except wins.

Walmart is the gem of the south.

Awesome. Just go with the ignorant stereotype that the South is nothing but a bunch of dumb rednecks who live to shop at Walmart. Especially if you don't know what the **** you're talking about.

I live south of the Mason-Dixon line, and spent seven years living in one of the states that lost the war of northern aggression. Most of my kin are from deep in the heart of Dixie. I do know what **** I'm talking about.

Besides, do you really want to argue that Colorado doesn't have the high ground from which to mock [strike]the south[/strike] everywhere else on earth?

I will also just drop this little gem of an article here:
