Tip-Off Marathon

i still get why there are games in the morning of these schools other than to stroke ESPN's ego.

But I'll watch it some of it.

i have been watching entirely too much basketball the last 24 hrs, but I am actually excited to see the Stanford/CSU game tonight. Stanford looked terrible in an ugly win last night against Fresno State. Interested to see how they play against CSU tonight.

Based on what I have seen I like CU's chances to be somewhat competitive in the P12 this year. WSU showed some heart in fighting back last night against Gonzaga but they don't look great. Stanford didn't look good, USC lost at home to Nebraska in double OT, UCLA is in shambles, ASU doesn't look great, so the PR tourney will gives us some insight into how good CU actually is, but CU could be all right.

Important mention of rule changes. Intention Fouls are now a flagrant 1. A flagrant 1 is now a flagrant 2 resulting in an ejection.

I am afraid for my online betting account. With stuff to bet on almost every single night, I hope I can make it through football season without losing it all.

UK pulling away from KU 57-40. CSU up early on Stanford 27-20, and Middle Tennessee up 35-30 on UCLA

CSU and Stanford are close at the half. Mainly because Stanford just made a 3/4 court buzzer beater at the end of the half.

Should also note that Arizona State lost to Pepperdine 66-60 this evening in Tempe. This is going to be another long year for the Sun Devils.

drives me insane that is this day and age you can't get live box scores on the internets, how is this possible? can't find the ucla box anywhere.

A lot of sites start with the "Top 25" filter for bball since there are so many games. Check that.

I can't see rebounding being a strength of either Stanford or CSU. Neither team exactly plays defense yet, they really just end up all over the court. Very disorganized play this early in the season.

Bright also provides stanford a very good three point shooter who attacks the basket well.

i watched the stanford/fresno st game last night and watching the stanford/csu game tonight, i haven't exactly figured out what stanford does well yet.

UCLA just lost by 20 to Middle Tennessee.

Have they quit on Howland?

i kind of expected them to bounce back and rally tonight after the reeves suspension and the ugly first outing, clearly that didn't happen. not a good start to the season. could be straight free fall from here.

I had good luck with college hoops last year. I think it's the easiest to bet on. With the sheer amount of games there's bound to be good odds somewhere. I'd wait a while to see how teams look this year and pick up on trends and whatnot.

right now the play seems to fade UCLA, wow. they have been favored by 14 and 11, and lost respectively by 11 and 20 leaving them -56 ATS. Does Vegas dare even set a line next week when they play Chaminade?

Yeah, that's what I did yesterday. I started my account during March Madness last year and was reckless. I started this thread; http://www.allbuffs.com/showthread....ps-degenerate-gambling...?p=999305#post999305 so we can keep all conversations about it in one place. Go post in there to subscribe.

Too bad we only get UCLA on the road, they are a mess right now. If they don't get their act together and start playing like a top 25 team then this might be the weakest edition of Pac basketball yet.

It doesn't look like the UCLA road game will be in an hostile environment, this pic was from their home game last night.

 Checked the box score, attendance was 4,758. I'm pretty sure they don't ever draw as well as one might expect

they don't draw as much as you expect and pauley pavilion is getting renovated this year so they are playing home games in several different LA locations, the majority of them are at the LA Sports Arena directly across from USC.

Todd Fuhrman (Race and Sports Analyst at Caesars) said last night on twitter the following which I found interesting:

"It might not be time to panic in Westwood yet but every handicapper should adjust UCLA home games like they're playing on a neutral floor"
