Tired Legs and Mental Fatigue

My biggest concerns about the game tonight vs Cal are these two factors. Oregon St, after playing three games in three days like us, simply hit the wall in the second half against Arizona and got blown-out after completely controlling the first half. Oregon St has a deeper team than CU, but their legs looked dead, and they had lost the mental edge in the second half even against an Arizona team which is not deep.

Hopefully, Boyle can wisely substitute and pull the right levers to avoid these problems - let's go Buffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big difference with OSU is that their key guys had played pretty much the whole 40 minutes. To the frustration of many fans regarding Tad's rotations, guys like Adams, Chen and Tunks have gotten good minutes to spell starters and Ski makes it so that we're really dividing among 6 starters. The only guy I worry about hitting the wall is Dre. As long as he's got his legs, we should be fine.

I know we want to be "open" and let all sorts of opinions fly, but I'm REALLY getting tired of these posts. I realize rialto has been here way longer than I, but he easily has to be the biggest negative Nancy on this board.

Rialto - I understand "devil's advocate" but I have yet to see ANYTHING positive out of you.

And Cal faced a physical game against Stanford yesterday, and also had to face Stanford just last Sunday. That's two physical, emotional rivalry games in a short span. Cal also has far less depth than we do. Conference tournaments are rough, you have to fight through some adversity.

I think it's a valid point. I don't like to go into games setting up excuses, though. It felt like that to me. Others like to temper their expectations. Whatever floats your boat. I assume that after we win this will just make rialto that much more impressed with what Tad and his boys pulled off.

Buffnik - I agree with respect to Jared Cunningham, but our minutes played in the first two games for the Top six players in total are almost the exact same as Oregon St:

Dufault - 48 min
Roberson - 70 min
Brown - 62 min
Tomlinson - 69 min
Dinwiddie - 61 min
Booker - 41 min
Total from Top 6 - 351 min

Moreland - 65 min
Collier - 52 min
Brandt - 34 min
Cunningham - 78 min
Starks - 70 min
Burton - 56 min
Total from Top 6 - 355 min

I'd be more interested in a comparison with Cal's top 6.

Merman is mermad.

I look forward to rialto's post for tomorrow - it seems to be good luck

Wasn't so worried about fatigue tonight, buy tomorrow...ugh. Four in four is tough. That said, UA is short-handed and I agree with the above sentiments that our rotation helps here. Haven't looked forward this much to a college basketball game, well, ever. GO BUFFS!

Was actually more worried about tonight. By the time its 4/4 vs 3/3, everyone is tired. Less of a difference than between 3/3 and 2/2, IMO.

Regardless, we're playing to make the Big Dance. Just gotta push through at all costs, and as you mention, Arizona lacks any depth. We'll be just fine

Go Buffs!
