California 3 should be bolded as well. That was a 5pm ET game, Sunday, right?
 
Same record as USC and Utah and a better record than Washington...this makes a lot of sense. And Cal??
 
Love it. Unless the ranking is the only thing holding students back from attending, I wouldn't mind being unranked (and the underdog) the rest of the year.
 
Will update momentarily but CU, after sweeping the Bay Area schools, has received 0 votes in either poll.

Ridiculous that Arizona is ranked but Utah is not. Or USC for that matter.

I don't think Wichita State deserves to be ranked either. They only have one top 50 win and they lost to USC. Why wouldn't you rank USC over them? This poll really makes no sense.
 
If you're a Pac squad and your name isn't Arizona; prepare to be underrated. The good news is recent history (beyond 2011) seems to indicate it won't have much (or any) effect on perceptions when it comes to actual seeding. Those guys actually go in-depth and do their jobs, for the most part.
 
It's unbelievable to me that three coaches voted for Cal and none for CU. I mean just completely and utterly unfathomable. It's like everyone cares that Cal and USC beat Arizona when Arizona was highly ranked but doesn't care that CU beat an Oregon team that is pretty clearly better than Arizona.

RPI is fine as an objective analysis of what a team has accomplished. It is also simple enough for coaches to understsnd and schedule accordingly and hold them accountable.

As a predictor of future events or ranking teams in order of how good they actually are, it is worthless.

Outside of the obvious ignorance, it makes you wonder how much of a factor injuries have on these polls.

This is a very good post and probably the one that Daaaah should read.

I still hate RPI tough.
 
The thing is, I don't think voters (AP or Coaches) are looking at any measure... RPI, KP, Sag, BPI, whatever. I also don't think they're looking at the other measures: record, conference standings, quality wins, etc.

I think they go by who they thought would be good in November, who has done well in past NCAA tournaments, and who won games on national tv among or against those teams.
 
I'm flummoxed, flabbergasted and exasperated.

This makes no sense. I hope it fires up the team this week against UO and OSU though. Those are BIG games for us to secure a good position in the P12 tourney. But yeah, bull****.
 
CU is playing some excellent ball, but we haven't had that "signature win" to break into the rankings. First game was the close loss to Iowa State, then we rolled until SMU, and then opened conference play with the loss at Cal.

Beating Oregon would be huge, but this will be a tough one. We are progressing as a team, though.

I was at the game yesterday, and the story of that game was aggressive, relentless defense. Hoping we can do that on the road this week!
