With the year closing today, the traffic reviews, and of course the Stoudt award nominations kicking off this week; a review of "The Year in University of Colorado Sporting News" seems in order as well. Above is a list of the top stories this year which three were yours?

I went with the basketball team's 2nd appearance in the tourney, the buzzer beaters that were/weren't, and Bohn getting fired. To me, if someone were to ask me what happened in 2013 for CU (aside from saying our football team sucked), it'd be those memories.

I'm glad and all for skiing and XC national champs, but i won't remember that at all in a few months.

Now, you make a poll about the worst parts about being a CU fan in 2013, I think we'd have a much more lively debate...

Top story to me was Bohn getting fired.
Top moment was beating KU.
I hate to exclude the Olympic sports, but truth is not many give a sh*t about them.

My votes: Bohn fired(see below), Beating buzzers, 2nd Tourney in a row. I had a hard time excluding football, but I could easily substitute 4 wins instead of beating buzzers. Come to think of it, excluding basketball season tickets being sold out is tough not to include since it shows how far the program has come. I didn't have a problem not including the facility upgrades, one of those, it's not there yet.
Not sure why Bohn fired/George hired are two separate choices. They are basically the same event IMO.

The sixth (SIXTH!) of Wetmore and the seventh (SEVENTH!) of Rokos. Thats mucho natty.

Exit Bohn, enter George. The new AD got a twelfth game with Charleston Southern after the flood and launched a $142M facilities renovation.

In Tad we trust. NCAA appearance and a great non-conference start highlighted by a signature win against KU with Askia's buzzer beating dagger at the Keg.

I think the Bohn firing/George hiring was basically the same event, and it was the biggest thing to happen to the AD this year. If they do this right, we are in for a long period of prosperity. I have cautious optimism that Rick George is going to do some wonderful things here. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

National Championships for skiing and X-Country. Anytime we win a Nat'l Championship in any sport, it should be celebrated to the fullest.

Rick George being hired. To me this is the biggest as I think the "people" in the admin have finally figured out how important sports are to the overall perception of the university as a whole.

Now if we could have voted on DeStiff resigning/firing, that would have been Number 1.

Emma Coburn won the 2013 NCAA T&F 3000 Steeplechase.

I nominate Emma for 2013 pictures of the year.

No basketball or on-field football?

In Tad I trust, but not only no, but not even close for me. On field football, really? Progress yes, but not top news by any stretch. Bball is the closest but it does not out rank Nattys for Skiing and CC. Bohn being fired and George being hired I think is the most important event of the year from a future perspective. Facilities are just flat out a bottom line need and thus outrank on field football and just out reaches bball at the tape.

Hard for me to leave out either on top 3, since that's what makes news no matter how many nattys we win in skiing and cc.
