Trouble in Texas

Wow, the AD's wife throwing a fit because they did not have a name tag for her at a reception -- sounds like a petty third world problem to me!!

Conspiracy theory - Pac 12 operative Hunt who had Powers' ear gets Patterson hired to single handedly bring UT athletics to their knees such that they beg to be allowed into the Pac 12 with no strap hangers and no special considerations, much to @sackman 's chagrin.
Larry's been plotting against you all along, Sacky.

This is my response whenever UT comes calling on the PAC 12 looking for admission and promising a bunch of great stuff...

My God, that is freaking hilarious.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys, either. They're pissed off at B12 officiating and the B12, yet they're the ones running the show in that piece of garbage conference. Self awareness isn't one of their strong suits, is it?

Mark Mangino, 2004 and Bo Pelini, 2009 among countless others are enlightened by this discovery that Big 12 officiating could screw a team out of a significant win.

I thought Jade Helm ended two weeks ago.
Turns out Obama was saving the coup de grâce for last Saturday!

Sad to see how far Texas fans have fallen
Though their meltdowns are always the best, especially at shAGGY

EARTH TO TEXAS:
Suspend every official working the game indefinitely,….until one of them comes forward and explains what happened. And that one person would receive immunity from prosecution. Suspensions would continue forever if no one spoke up. After a few weeks or few years of no income from officiating, someone would, as they say, spill the beans.

SHUT UP. YOU LOST FAIRLY BECAUSE YOUR TEAM STINKS. PERIOD.

North Carolina serves no academic purpose and should be banned.

Associate Math Professor and Trivia Team Coach, MSECU

As I adjust my tinfoil hat, I have to think that with a new AD, a new coach is likely. Positive results keep Strong. Powerful buckets of money want Strong out, and refs have been bought before.

Imagine if Strong had reacted with force after that ref threw his shoulder into him.

I love watching Texas trip over there own feet. Screw Texas and **** Baylor. Meanwhile at TCU, they re-admitted three guys to the team yesterday who are up on felony charges! Soap opera writers couldn't dream up the story line that is the big12!

Texas.

Last year I felt that CU was held to a different standard than our Pac opponents for PI. I still believe that.

This year, I felt the MWC refs made calls that favored their conference when we played Hawaii and CSU.

So I don't blame UT fans here. In fact, the outrage is so consistent and loud that I suspect that, at a minimum, they got some raw deals in officiating, regardless of intent.

But I'm wondering if the issue is one of the following:

1. Are the officials out to get Texas to more broadly support the unbeatens in the conference?

2. Is Texas finally being held to the same officiating standard as everybody else, after years of benefits?

If any of the calls were affected by bias (conscious or not) I suspect it's the latter.

The okie lite spin (from the talking heads on sports radio) - one announcer said he rewatched the entire game and noticed the donghorn defensive linemen holding on blitzes. He said a DL would hit a gap to draw a double team and would then latch onto the o-linemen to allow a blitzer to run free.

I saw several replays of the critical penalty called late in the game that gave okie lite a first down. Not sure I saw what he, or the refs, saw. Might have been one of those "past-history" calls, I dunno.

Anyway, the donghorns lost and the soap opera continues.

It has always seemed to me that refs tend to favor (maybe subconciously) teams that win. Scoring points, fans cheering, lots of positive media coverage, etc. results in momentum that carries over to the refs. In the NFL when Manning was lighting it up his recievers got lots of marginal PI calls, Seattles defense while dominating got away with mugging opponents,

For a long time Texas has had superior talent and won a lot of games, the refs went along. Now that they aren't better, aren't winning all the time, the refs call stuff against them that in the past would have been ignored or gone in their favor.

If there was ever a fan base that had an inflated sense of entitlement it is Texas. They think they deserve every advantage simply because they are who they are. I love watching them panic and grasp for straws as they continue to struggle on the field.

We have already had some fun this year watching various inflated ego schools deal with losing. It would be a lot of fun to read Shaggy this year if Oklahoma manages to post hole them by 30+.

You've managed to capture exactly what I was trying to say in one short line, in only four paragraphs!

What about the conference title game when they played the fuskers and the refs magically added a second back on the clock after time expired so UT could kick the game winning FG?

"Texas A&M regent: We should play Texas to add 'cupcake' to schedule"

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...-should-play-texas-to-add-cupcake-to-schedule

Texas A&M regent Tony Buzbee took a crack at the Texas Longhorns on Facebook in a post advocating for the two teams to play again in football.

“I'm going to advocate that the Aggies play Texas again in the near future. Because of our brutal SEC West schedule, where we play the likes of Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, etc., the Aggies need some cupcake games to rest and heal,” Buzbee wrote Wednesday. "In my view, Texas is just as weak if not weaker than the non-conference games we play, so we may as well play them."
