UCLA home games in... San Diego?

They're going to be renovating Pauley Pavilion next year, which I understand is a good thing, because its supposed to be a dump.

But possibly playing some home games in San Diego? Isn't that slightly insane. Its two hours to get from SD to Orange County on a good day, let alone getting to NW LA.

That drive from OC to SD is absolutely brutal. Too often I have driven it pretty much bumper to bumper the whole way.

You'd think they'd look at the Honda Center in Ahaneim where the Ducks play. It's a lot closer and seats over 17k for hoops. The Clippers used to play there.

The article says its available for 9 dates. But even Anaheim can be like 90 minutes from UCLA.
