UCLA WR dies after being struck by car

This sucks.

UCLA freshman wide receiver Nick Pasquale has died in a car accident, according to local media reports.

The Orange County coroner’s office told the Orange County Register that Pasquale, 20, was struck by a vehicle shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning in San Clemente, Calif. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, reports the OC Register.

A redshirt freshman at UCLA, Pasquale was on foot when he was fatally hit by a vehicle, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Office release obtained by the Daily Bruin.

One of his former coaches, Jamie Ortiz, spoke with the San Clemente Times about Pasquale.

“He was a vocal and physical leader for our teams … During his senior year he was the heart and soul of that team. He was everything you wanted in a player,” Ortiz told the San Clemente Times.

Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and teammates.

So sorry to hear this.

Nothing good happens in the news at 1:30 AM

Wow sorry to hear this, hope the family can find peace. The Denver metro had a rash of events like this recently, sad for all involved in things like this.

Poor guy. There are way too many cars on the road driven by people that shouldn't have drivers license

Is it me or has there been a sudden uptick in the number of pedestrians who are clipped in the wee hours on Sunday mornings? Every Sunday morning they seem to report another Pedestrian in Denver is hit, usually by a hit and run driver. I'd guess alcohol is involved in most of these, but that's always been the case. It just seems like it's rampant these days. What's changed? Everyone is staring at their iphone now?

Karma to his family and friends. Horrible.
